Blue bricks and tiles, carved beams and painted buildings, scattered halls and extraordinary style-a common mansion in the Central Plains during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, has now become a rare treasure. However, there is one place where there are nearly 200 buildings left-that is, Heping, a thousand-year-old cultural town in Shaowu.
Heping town is located in the northwest of Fujian, with an area of 192 square kilometers. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and is one of the oldest ancient towns in Fujian Province. It is a rare castle town in China, and its ancient buildings are one of the most distinctive ancient residential buildings in China so far, which is also a national tourism resource. Heping town is rich in folk culture, and many folk activities are quite peculiar and of great ornamental value, such as Nuo dance called living fossil, unique dragon lanterns and candle bridges; Peace also has three unique fruit tables, star-watching tea and swimming tofu, which are very attractive to tourists.
