Lai Mao and Maotai have many origins, and some people call it the ancestor of Maotai. Speaking of the history of Maotai, we have to mention "Lai".
Lai, the originator of Maotai, was born in Fujian. 1826, during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, the "Maotai Baked Spring Workshop" was founded in Maotai Village, and Lai was responsible for the production and operation of the winery. Mao wine brewed by the original "sand-returning" technology and compound brewing technology has a unique flavor and a long-standing reputation. It is a typical Maotai-flavor Daqu liquor with the most perfect style, and was later called "the originator of Maotai-flavor".
19 15 coincides with the World Famous Wine Exhibition of Panama World Expo. Mr. Lai was determined to take part in the competition with patriotism, and sent Lai Mao wine to Panama World Expo in San Francisco, USA through the government of the Republic of China at that time, winning the world gold medal in one fell swoop and becoming one of the three largest distilled spirits in the world. Since then, it has entered the international market and become a world-renowned treasure of the Chinese nation.
1929, Lai invested and assigned his son and his brother to expand the "Heng Chang Burning House" and renamed it Hengxing Distillery, creating a century-old Lai Jiamao wine in Maotai Town, Guizhou Province, which was passed down from generation to generation with the secret recipe of ancestral brewing. Later, the ancestral business was passed on to his son, and his son Lai's three brothers followed his father's wishes and officially named "Lai Jiamao Liquor" and "Lai Mao Liquor" as "Lai Mao Liquor" trademarks.
After the founding of New China, the three major Maotai distilleries, Laimao, Hua Mao and Elvis Presley, were all nationalized and established Kweichow Moutai Distillery, whose product Kweichow Moutai is known as the national wine. At this point, "Laimao" wine, which was created by Lai's descendants, laid a solid foundation for the future glory of Maotai, the national wine.
Laimao Liquor, founded by Mr. Lai himself, has become a famous wine in China and will go down in history forever.
After the reform and opening up in the 1980s, Lai's descendant, Mr. Lai, returned to Maotai Town to produce Maotai-flavor "Lai Jiamao" wine according to the secret recipe and traditional craft handed down from his family, vowing to inherit and carry forward the classic "Lai Jiamao Wine" with Maotai-flavor. Thanks to the unremitting efforts of Lai Mao's descendants, Lai Mao's classic sauce flavor "Lai Jiarong" has won the favor of the world.
