Legal analysis: if there is no marriage certificate or a marriage certificate but not cohabiting with * * *, it should be returned; If the life of the man is difficult due to the payment of the bride price, it shall also be returned. In other cases, it may not be possible to return.

Legal basis: Article 10 of the Interpretation of Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China requests the return of the bride price paid according to custom, and the people's court shall support it if it is found that it belongs to the following circumstances:

(1) Both parties have not gone through the marriage registration formalities; (2) Both parties have gone through the marriage registration formalities, but they have not lived together; (3) Premarital payment causes difficulties to the payer. The provisions of the preceding paragraph shall apply.

The provisions in items (2) and (3) are conditional on the divorce of both parties.
