Recover the north and south of the Yellow River
Du fu in Tang dynasty
The news of this distant western station! The north has been recovered! At first, I couldn't stop crying on my coat.
Where are my wife and son? There is not a trace of sadness on their faces. However, I packed my books and poems crazily.
On a green spring day, I began to go home, singing my songs loudly and drinking my wine.
Come back from this mountain, pass another mountain, go up from the south and then go north-to my own town! .
[Edit this paragraph] Author introduction
Du Fu (A.D. 7 12-770), Han nationality, was born in Gongxian County, Henan Province (now Gongyi, Zhengzhou). He is called He Du. In the world, his own name is Shao Ling Ye Lao. He was a great realistic poet in China in Tang Dynasty. He served his country and died young. He is a poet and a world cultural celebrity. He and Li Bai are also called "Du Li". Du Fu's ancestral home is Xiangyang (now Xiangfan City, Hubei Province). His distant ancestor is Du Yu, a famous poet in the Jin Dynasty, and his ancestor is Du Yu, a poet in the early Tang Dynasty. Du Fu himself was born in Gongxian County, Henan Province (now Gongyi, Zhengzhou). Du Fu was originally Zuo Shiyi and Yuan Wailang, and later he was called Du Shiyi and Du Gongbu. Du Fu lived in the historical period from prosperity to decline in the Tang Dynasty, and his poems mostly involved social unrest, political darkness and people's sufferings. His poems are called "the history of poetry". Du Fu was concerned about the country and the people, with noble personality and exquisite poetic skills, and was called "Poet Saint" by later gods. Du Fu wrote more than 1400 poems in his life, many of which are famous works that have been handed down through the ages, such as Three Officials and Three Farewells, and The Collection of Du Gongbu has been handed down from generation to generation. Among them, the "three officials" are Shi Haoguan, Xin 'an official and Tongguan official, and the "three farewell" are newly married, homeless and resigned. Du Fu's poems have a far-reaching influence on later generations.
Du Fu is good at using many systems of classical poetry and creatively developing them. He is the pioneer of the new Yuefu poetry style. His Yuefu poems contributed to the development of the new Yuefu movement in the middle Tang Dynasty. His "May 7th" ancient novel, which is also a history of poetry, begins to narrate and focus on the whole story, marking the high achievement of China's poetry art. Du Fu also showed extraordinary creativity in the May 7th law, and accumulated complete artistic experience in the aspects of temperament, antithesis, refining words and sentences, which made this genre reach a fully mature stage.
[Edit this paragraph] I heard that the official received the original poem from Henan and Hebei.
The poem takes "the news of the distant western station!" The north has been taken back! " And tell the good news directly. Northern Hebei is the home of Anshi Rebellion. The recovery of northern Hebei marked the disintegration of Anshi Rebellion and the unification of broken mountains and rivers. This is really great news for this poet who has been wandering "Jiannan" for many years and is eager to end his exile and return to his hometown. The poet expresses his mixed feelings by writing his own tears. In the second couplet of poetry, the poet's surprise is more incisive. With tears of joy, I look back at * * * *' s troubled wife and children. Their old gloom has long since vanished and they are immersed in joy. The joy of relatives is the poet's greatest comfort. He was almost mad with joy. He tidies up his poems at will and never studies at his desk. This is extremely abnormal behavior for a person who has read a lot of books. This abnormal description appropriately shows the poet's ecstasy. "ecstasy" is not only the result of the first surprise above, but also the reason why the following surprise leads to the prospect. Because of "forgetting me", he indulged in drinking and singing, and then gave birth to youth as a companion, wanting to go home by boat, so there was a third line in the poem, "Sing my songs and drink my wine deeply, and I will go home on that green spring day", and the poet further rendered and sublimated his inner ecstasy. Tailing couplets are an imaginary route to return home, with the dam as the starting point, Wuxia as the only place to pass, Xiangyang and Luoyang as the poet's original residence and hometown. This sentence accurately expressed the poet anxious to return's joy in regaining lost ground.
Translation (1)
Outside the sword gate, I suddenly heard that the loyalist had recovered Jibei.
At first glance, tears spilled all over the floor.
Looking back, I wonder where the sad faces of my wife and children have gone.
I was ecstatic and picked up a collection of poems at random.
Sing loudly during the day and drink to your heart's content,
Spring just accompanied me back to my long-lost hometown.
Immediately set out through the Three Gorges, and then through Wuxia,
Then pass Xiangyang and transfer to Luoyang, the old capital.
Translation (2)
I was at the southern foot of Jianmen Mountain when I heard the news that the loyalist had recovered the northern thistle.
Just hearing the news, I was so excited that tears filled my eyes and my clothes were wet.
Looking back at his wife and son, the sad face was swept away.
Ah! I am so happy that I can't settle down to study.
Forget it, just put the book away. Being happy is really crazy.
On this beautiful day, we really should sing happily and drink a few glasses of wine.
Let's take advantage of the beautiful spring and go back to our hometown together. Let's leave quickly! only
If you want to cross Wuxia under the dam and get out of Xiangyang, you can go to Luoyang.
The Anshi Rebellion brought great disasters to the country and people, and Du Fu had long hoped that the Anshi Rebellion could be settled as soon as possible. When the day finally came, he was so excited that he cried with joy. The first four sentences are from "sudden biography" to "first smell" and then to "look" and "roll". Several continuous movements describe the mood of surprise to the fullest. The last four sentences try to describe the excitement of "ecstasy" through imagination: he not only wants to sing loudly and drink loudly, but also wants to return to his hometown immediately in a beautiful spring, which can be seen from the four place names he listed in one breath.
Has flown away along this route!
This poem was written by Du Fu when he lived in Zizhou. Du Fu was 52 years old this year, which was the fifth year that he drifted out of Jianmen because of An Shi Rebellion. Du Fu has been looking forward to quelling the rebellion and tracing its roots. Suddenly, when he heard that the loyalist had recovered Jibei, he burst into tears of joy and could not help himself. The author expresses his surprise mood incisively and vividly with four continuous actions: sudden transmission, first smell, but watching and rambling. In these four dynamic descriptions, the author imagines that he has passed through Basha, Martial Arts, Xiangyang and Luoyang, and returned to his dream hometown. Later generations said: "This poem is extremely happy, full of twists and turns, and the simpler it is, the simpler it is." This poem is Lao Du's "the first quick poem in life", and so on, which are all very accurate comments.

[Edit this paragraph] background
The banks of the Yellow River recovered by the imperial army were called Du Fu's "fastest poems in his life" by his predecessors. In the first month of the first year of Guangde in Tang Daizong (763), Shi Chaoyi committed suicide, and Tanabe and Li Huaixian surrendered one after another. Henan and Hebei were successively recovered by government troops, and the "Anshi Rebellion" that lasted for more than seven years was completely subsided. At that time, the poet Du Fu and his wife lived in Zizhou, Sichuan Province. When he heard the good news of the victory, he couldn't help being ecstatic. In his extreme excitement, he changed the gloomy and implicit poetic style in the past and wrote this famous seven-rhythm poem in lively and hearty language.

[Edit this paragraph] Short story (expansion)
I walked alone in a small street in Zizhou, thinking gloomily about the reunification of the country. When can I restore Jibei ... Suddenly I heard a village beating gongs and drums and shouting. Others swarmed with excitement. "What's the matter? What's the matter? " I thought to myself. "Ji north back? Impossible! " All the thoughts that flashed through my mind were dispelled. Asked passers-by, I learned that Gilbert was really found. I can't believe my ears. Unexpectedly, the day I have been looking forward to every month has finally arrived. Great, great! I involuntarily shed tears full of excitement and happiness, and unconsciously, tears wet my whole dress.
I finally hurried home. Hurriedly told the exciting news to his wife and lovely children. Not surprisingly, they all jumped three feet for joy. I rolled up a book of poems at random, and I was almost crazy with joy.
Blue sky and white clouds are lined with clear lake water. This is a picturesque school, what a beautiful scenery! The warm wind, blowing my face, makes me refreshed. My friends and I sang loudly in the bright sunshine, drank wine together and chatted happily. How much I want to go back to my hometown with the company of this spring.
In my mind, I have already presented the scene and route of returning to my hometown: the trees are lush and the birds are singing together. I set off from the dam in a canoe, went downstream, crossed the lush and mountainous Wuxia, and went straight to Luoyang as soon as I passed Xiangyang.
I quickly wrote a quick poem:
The banks of the Yellow River were recovered by the imperial army.
Come back from this mountain, pass another mountain, go up from the south and then go north-to my own town! .
