How is the smoke on the stage made?
The dry ice smoke machine uses the principle that solid dry ice at -78℃ is heated and gasified at room temperature to produce a large amount of white smoke, providing a smoke effect for the stage. Low-power dry ice machines below 3kW are used in China, which are suitable for small and medium-sized stage, but not for large stage. High-power dry ice machine has been widely used in developed countries because of its advantages of large smoke exhaust, fast smoke exhaust speed, fast stage spread and environmental protection.

As a kind of stage equipment, the stage fog machine is used frequently. Because of its large power consumption and a key component heater, the highest temperature can reach more than 300 degrees. Therefore, improper operation or careless maintenance during use will damage the machine and shorten the service life of the hood, but it will cause safety hazards and accidents.

Extended data

Carbon dioxide is invisible. It's not smoke, it's fog. When carbon dioxide changes from solid to gas, it absorbs a lot of heat, which makes the temperature of the surrounding air drop rapidly, and the air temperature drops accordingly. Its solubility in water vapor becomes smaller, and water vapor liquefies. When it releases heat, it becomes small droplets, which is fog. This is the same as the "white fog" of popsicles in summer. It's all water droplets, not other gaseous substances.

That is, we see white fog instead of white smoke. The temperature of dry ice is much lower than that of water, so it is equivalent to heating dry ice, which absorbs heat and sublimates, reducing the temperature of water and even freezing it.
