Luhuitou, located 3 kilometers south of Sanya, is the only hilltop park in Hainan and the only place in Sanya to climb the sea and enjoy the scenery of the southern coastal city.
In the past, it was just an island at the southern tip of Hainan Island. Later, under the action of long-term crustal movement, it gradually connected with the island and became the Luhuitou Ridge, which is about 300 meters high as we see today.
The reason why it is called Luhuitou is because of a local love myth and legend of Li nationality in Hainan with a history of more than 5,000 years.
Legend has it that once upon a time there was a young Li who went up the mountain to hunt deer. In order to chase a deer, he chased it from Wuzhishan in Hainan to the top of the cliff on the South China Sea coast.
Facing the vast sea under the cliff, Poirot knew there was no way out. Just as young people wanted to shoot an arrow, they suddenly saw a fire, turned around and became a beautiful girl Li. Later, they married and multiplied in this land, hence the name "Luhuitou".
The legend of Luhuitou is a symbol of Sanya, which has been recognized and admired by more than 0/100 million Li compatriots in Hainan/KLOC. Today, Luhuitou Mountain has become a beautiful hilltop park, surrounded by the sea on three sides and adjacent to downtown Sanya on one side. It is the commanding height to watch the sunrise and sunset. Standing on the mountain, you can overlook the vast sea and rolling mountains, and have a panoramic view of Sanya.
At the highest peak of Wuling Park, a huge mythical statue of Luhuitou is as high as12m, which is an outdoor sculpture based on the local love myths and legends of the Li nationality. Very vivid and touching. It is the tallest sculpture in Hainan and the city sculpture in Sanya, hence the name "Lucheng".
Luhuitou is not only a "Li mountain" and an "ecological mountain", but also a famous "love mountain".

You can let drivers take Binhai Road and enjoy the scenery of Sanya Bay along the way. From downtown to Luhuitou 10-30 yuan, Dadonghai to Luhuitou 10-20 yuan, and from Yalong Bay to Luhuitou, the taxi fare is about 40-50 yuan, and the journey takes 25 minutes. Visitors to Yalong Bay can take a bus to Dadonghai Square, Summer Department Store or Luling Road intersection, and take a taxi 10 yuan to the entrance of the scenic spot.
