What is the planting distance of pomegranate trees?
Pomegranate planting density varies with site conditions, varieties and shaping methods, generally 70- 1 10 plants. In mountainous slopes, barren soil, shallow soil layer and poor irrigation conditions, it can be slightly dense, with a spacing of 2-3×3-4 meters. The plain area has deep soil layer, fertile soil and abundant water resources, but it can be thinner, and the spacing between plants is 3× 3m-3× 4m. Single trunk shaping can be denser (2× 3m), and 2-3 trunks are thinner (3× 4m). The flourishing variety or tree-shaped variety should be sparse (3× 4m), such as Taishan red pomegranate in Shandong Province, with relatively upright branches, and the weaker variety can be appropriately densely planted (2-3× 3-4m), such as Lintong red sweet pomegranate. The above planting densities are acceptable, but corresponding cultivation management measures should be taken.
