Xi 'an Medical University, referred to as "Western Medicine" for short, is a full-time undergraduate college organized by Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. It was selected as the first batch of pilot universities in the excellent doctoral education and training program of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of pilot universities in the reform of the training mode of national medical master's degree graduates, the construction unit of "first-class colleges" in Shaanxi Province, the training base of general practitioners in Shaanxi Province, and the training center of grassroots doctors in Shaanxi Province.

The school was founded in 195 1, formerly known as Shaanxi Health School. 65438-0959, Shaanxi Health Cadre College was established by the provincial government. 1994 The State Education Commission approved the establishment of Shaanxi Medical College. In February 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Xi 'an Medical College.
