What should I pay attention to when planting orange saplings in spring?
1. Grasp the appropriate planting season. Nutritional pot seedlings can be planted all year round, and bare-rooted seedlings should be planted from early February to early March. At this time, the temperature in most parts of Hunan is getting warmer, the ground temperature is above 12.8℃, the rain is gradually increasing, and the air humidity is high, which is beneficial to the survival of citrus seedlings.

2. Prepare before planting and buy seedlings in a regular disease-free nursery; Because the roots of citrus seedlings are prone to waterlogging and rot, it is suggested not to choose plots with high groundwater level and red and yellow land with serious hardening for planting; Trenching and backfilling should be carried out according to the row spacing and plant spacing before planting; Dig a planting hole on the backfill loose soil, put the base fertilizer into the hole to mix with the soil, and pile up the soil, which is more than 20 cm above the ground to prevent the soil from sinking after planting. It is suggested that organic fertilizer mixed with superphosphate compost should be used as the base fertilizer for planting holes. Pay attention to the base fertilizer to be evenly mixed with the soil around the planting hole. Citrus seedlings should not be planted directly on the base fertilizer, and the roots of citrus seedlings should not be directly exposed to chemical fertilizers. Before planting, remove the grafting film, cut off all tender branches and leaves that are not aging, cut off single-stem branches with a height of 50 cm, cut off branches with low main load-bearing parts, cut off branches and leaves with serious pests and diseases, and trim other branches and leaves as appropriate according to the root system. Dip the root with 3% calcium superphosphate thick mud before bare root seedling.

3. Do a good job in transportation and storage. After the citrus seedlings arrive at the planting site, all the lashing ropes should be loosened and placed vertically in a humid environment, and the roots should be covered with wet straw or film. Bare-rooted seedlings should be planted within 3 days, no later than 5 days. If it can't be planted within 5 days, the seedlings should be soaked in 3% calcium superphosphate mud and then transplanted with heels.

4. Standardize the planting operation, choose to plant before it rains or on cloudy days, and the soil moisture in planting holes should not be too high. When planting, the roots of seedlings should not be stuck in holes, and seedlings should not be planted directly on unbroken large clay. The root neck should be flush with the mound, and the root system should not be buried too deep. After the plants and row spacing are arranged neatly, cover the roots with finely divided topsoil and a small amount of decomposed manure or compost, clay ash and other mixtures. Gently lift the seedlings upward to make the roots stretch and closely contact with the soil, and then firmly cover the roots with your feet. Expose the joint to the ground and water the root in time.

5. Be diligent in management. In case of continuous drought or ineffective precipitation after planting, water it on the 3rd, 7th and 5th day after planting, respectively, to improve the survival rate. In order to facilitate the shaping of young trees and prevent the seedlings from being damaged by the wind, orange seedlings can be tied to posts.
