2. The main factors affecting the mold price are product accuracy, mold design, mold materials and processing technology. Taking car models as an example, compared with the same period of last year, the prices of models manufactured by EDM and wire cut are much higher, because the model materials are wear-resistant, high-temperature resistant and corrosion-resistant, and the mold design is easy to manufacture and maintain.

3. The fastest and most direct difference in the process of the mold is that the cavity is directly milled by CNC (the corner is simplified to R angle), and the insert can be disassembled without disassembly. If you need to cut the line, use the fast line or the middle line, which will lower the cost and of course lower the product precision; On the contrary, CNC is used to mill the cavity first, then EDM is used to mill the cavity, some parts are disassembled into inserts (convenient for production exhaust and subsequent maintenance), and wire cut is used for wire cutting, which has higher cost, but the product accuracy and subsequent production maintenance are much better;

4. Generally, 30% will be paid after signing the mold opening contract, 20% when the mold is manufactured for the first trial production, 20% when the mold is completely qualified and put into mass production, and the remaining 30% will be paid year by year according to the design life of the mold until the mold reaches the expected life. Besides, you mentioned what to do if the product is unqualified. Generally speaking, molds must be qualified within the time required by the contract. If it is unqualified, it will be compensated according to the contract.

Payment terms are not fixed. Some people pay half or not in advance. It depends on your own experience and the size of the manufacturer. The key is what you say!
