How to prevent seedlings from freezing?
When winter comes, it has become an important task for landscaping to take corresponding protective measures to help green seedlings survive the winter safely.

1, ridging

The size of soil cultivation is about 50-80 cm in diameter and 30-50 cm in height, and the time is after winter irrigation. This can not only avoid excessive evaporation of soil moisture, but also ensure that the root neck and roots of seedlings will not be frostbitten by low temperature.

Step 2 cover the soil

In early spring, the temperature rises, the air is dry and the evaporation of seedlings increases. Because the temperature is still low, the soil is not thawed in time, and the roots can't supply water in time, which is easy to cause physiological dryness of plants. In order to solve this problem, the burying method can be adopted, that is, the whole seedling is buried in the soil before and after beginning of winter, so as to ensure that the seedling and the soil maintain a certain temperature and are not affected by external temperature changes, and at the same time, the soil moisture can be guaranteed, the evaporation of the seedling moisture can be reduced, and the seedling death caused by low temperature and physiological drought can be avoided. This measure is mainly applicable to some evergreen conifers and some flowering shrubs, such as Chinese rose, rose and boxwood.

Step 3 erect a windbreak wall

Erecting wind barriers can reduce the damage caused by strong winds and freezing drought to saplings. This method is generally suitable for the cold protection of evergreen coniferous seedlings and some introduced tree species, precious tree species or broad-leaved plant seedlings, and the height of wind barrier is required to exceed the height of seedlings.

Step 4 paint it white

That is, coating the branches of trees with a mixture of lime and stone sulfur can not only protect the trunk from the temperature difference between day and night, but also kill the overwintering pests. The operation time is usually selected in the late of 10 or the middle of10/month.

Step 5 cover with film

That is, the upper part of the seedling is arched with iron bars and other materials, then covered with plastic film and buried with soil around it to form a solid cold-proof shed. Suitable for spruce, juniper and other seedlings, as well as green shrubs and flowers on both sides of the road. It should be noted that irrigation should be carried out before mulching to prevent plants from being short of water.

You can also apply some Woye liquid water-soluble fertilizer to raise the ground temperature.
