How to Cultivate Potted Jujube —— Cultivation Method of Potted Jujube

Potted jujube trees can blossom in the same year, and some can bear fruit. The leaves are red, and jujube trees can be potted in open spaces, houses and balconies with good lighting conditions. The following are the breeding methods of potted jujube trees I have compiled, hoping to help you!

1. Pot and nutrient soil: Pot, pot and plastic pot can be used for potted jujube trees. The nutrient soil is 1/2 leguminous crop straw compost soil plus 1/2 garden soil, and a small amount of sand is added. Every cubic meter of nutrient soil is added with 25% NPK compound fertilizer 1 kg, and mixed evenly.

2. Planting: select varieties with developed roots and plant them in the dormant period of jujube trees. Put a few broken tiles on the seepage hole of the basin, put a small amount of sand at the bottom of the basin and add some nutrient soil. Spread the jujube root system in a pot, pat the pot and add nutrient soil, and finally gently compact it and water it once. After a period of time, after the basin soil sinks, add some nutrient soil and leave a few centimeters of unfilled soil at the mouth of the basin as a watering nozzle.

3. Fertilizer and water management Potted jujube trees generally begin to bloom in June, when the plants have higher requirements for humidity. Water every day on sunny days to keep the soil moist. Water should be poured every 1 ~ 2 days on sunny days in spring and autumn, and antifreeze water should be poured when the basin soil is dry in winter.

Potted jujube trees are mainly applied with cake fertilizer and organic fertilizer solution, and every 7 ~ 10 days/time. The growth period of jujube branches and leaves, flower bud development period and young fruit growth period are the main periods of nutritional demand. At this time, organic fertilizer solution can be applied twice, and then 0.3% urea solution 1 time can be applied to supplement the demand of trees for mineral nutrition. In autumn, the amount of phosphate fertilizer should be increased and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution should be applied twice.

4. Flower and fruit management

(1) girdling at flowering stage can improve fruit setting rate. When the flowering amount of jujube trees reaches 30% ~ 40%, girdling is carried out at the base of the trunk, and the width of girdling mouth is generally 0.2 cm. Jujube trees like light, so potted jujube trees should be placed in a place with good ventilation and light transmission conditions to facilitate fruit setting. Spraying gibberellin from 10ppm to 15ppm and 0.3% urea solution at flowering stage can improve fruit setting rate. Spraying 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution twice during fruit expansion period can improve fruit setting rate. When the non-backbone jujube head has about three jujube heads, removing the core can also improve the fruit setting rate.

(2) If there are too many fruits or uneven fruit setting in potted jujube trees, the fruit should be thinned, and if the quality of the over-dense parts is poor and the fruits are small, the fruit should be thinned. Fruits that grow late are not easy to ripen. For example, there are many fruits developed in early flowering, and if late fruits have air-drying effect on the growth of early fruits, they should be thinned out.

5. Pruning potted jujube trees can be pruned according to the trunk shape. The trunk is 20 to 30 cm high, and there are about 5 main branches on the main branches, which are covered with branches. Potted jujube trees should be pruned in February and March, and useless branches, cross branches and over-dense branches should be thinned. The main branch to be extended is short-headed, and the cut 1 second secondary branch should be cut off, otherwise the main bud cannot germinate. Branches used for fruiting should be shrunk to 2-year-old parts, and the cut secondary branches should not be cut off.

6. Pests and diseases control The main pests and diseases of potted jujube trees are jujube borer, tortoise scale, jujube armyworm, jujube inchworm and jujube witches' broom. Spraying diflubenzuron 3000 times in larval stage can control jujube moth, jujube armyworm and jujube geometrid. The scale can be scraped off during the dormant period of jujube trees, or sprayed with 50% dichlorvos for 800 times during the nymph period. Using natural enemies such as ladybug and mantis to prey on pests has also achieved good results. Potted jujube trees with jujube witches' broom should be pulled out of the pot in time and buried deeply.

7. Change pots or nutrient soil. After the jujube tree grows in the pot for 2 to 3 years, it needs to be replaced with a bigger pot. In the dormant period, the jujube tree is pulled out of the pot, the root mat and a small amount of root system are removed, and then the soil is put into the pot, and the nutrient soil is added. If you don't replace the potted jujube trees in large pots, you should also change the nutrient soil for about 2 years to facilitate the growth of jujube trees. After the jujube tree is pulled out, remove the root mat and a small amount of root system, add nutrient soil, then put the jujube tree with soil in the basin, add nutrient soil, and then pour water.

8. Overwintering potted jujube trees can safely overwinter indoors or in sheds, or in the open air in areas where winter is not too cold. Cover the basin with some grass and check whether the soil is dry before the cold current comes. If the potted soil is dry, it should be watered once to facilitate the safe overwintering of potted jujube trees.
