Xuzhou, located in the northwest corner of Jiangsu Province, is recommended for scenic spots. Although it is far away from the political and economic prosperity circle of the Yangtze River Delta, it is located at the junction of northern Jiangsu, southern Shandong, eastern Henan and northern Anhui, with a blend of cultures.
There are naturally hills here, which control water storage and form lakes. Although the geographical location is somewhat "neither south nor north", the scenery has the characteristics of "South Show and North Hero".
As the hometown of Liu, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, there are tombs buried under the mountain, leaving behind the tombs of the Han Dynasty, terracotta warriors and horses and stone reliefs, which are called "three wonders of the two Han Dynasties". There are also many large parks in modern cities, and the scenery around yunlong lake is fascinating. There are many unique local cuisines in Jiangsu cuisine, such as mutton soup.
Pizhou
Colorful ginkgo trees in autumn have a long history of planting in Pizhou City under the jurisdiction of Xuzhou, and now it has reached the scale of 6,543,800+million. Every autumn, the countryside is full of golden leaves, which is spectacular. An ancient ginkgo tree in Baima Temple, Hu Si Town, has a history of over 1.500 years, with a height of 2 1 m, and can produce several thousand kilograms of ginkgo fruit every year. In the Ginkgo Expo Park in Shang Gang Town, there are two thousand-year-old sister ginkgo trees standing side by side, and there are hundreds of ancient ginkgo trees over a hundred years old.
On both sides of the road in Yaozhuang Village, Tiefu Town, tall ginkgo trees are densely covered with branches and leaves, and an arched corridor is formed above the road. In the light and shadow in the morning and evening, the colors are blurred and attractive, especially on camera. This corridor is also called "Ginkgo biloba is just a visit".

Xuzhou Museum
Heping Road 10 1
9: 00 ~ 17: 00, closed on Monday.
Visiting this museum, which houses the national treasures unearthed from the Han tombs such as Lion Mountain, Guishan Mountain and Beidongshan Mountain, is far more shocking than some provincial museums.
The most worth visiting carefully is the "Tiangong Hanyu" exhibition hall located on the second floor of the museum, where there are the treasures of the town hall-the golden jade clothes of the tomb of the King of Chu in Lion Mountain, as well as glittering jade coffins, dragons, jade ornaments, silver jade clothes, jade plaques and so on. And there is also an interpretation of jade used for funeral in Han Dynasty.
Don't ignore the Tushan Han Tomb in the yard behind the museum. The archaeological work here is still going on, and the huge tombstone with a large area is shocking. Beside the path that goes deep into the tomb, neatly cut yellow intestine stones are stacked, and silver jade clothes are displayed in the tomb.
Shizishan Han culture scenic spot
1 Terracotta Warriors Road
8: 30 ~ 17: 30 in summer and 8: 30 ~ 16: 30 in winter.
As the first of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China in 1995, even though many cultural relics unearthed from the Chu Tomb in Lion Mountain have been transferred to the museum, it is still worth a deep underground look. The "Three Wonders of the Han Dynasty", which is composed of Han tombs, terracotta warriors and horses and Han stone reliefs, allows you to appreciate the essence of Chinese culture.
After entering the huge exhibition hall of the Chu Tomb in Lion Mountain, you will feel the coexistence of grandeur and gloom. Entering the underground palace along the entrance of the tomb, please pay attention to the "unfinished" signs of the image project of Emperor Liu: the back room was roughly excavated and the coffin was actually placed in the front hall. These hasty results are not commensurate with the big framework, and they are also an important proof that the owner of the tomb was Liu Wu, the third generation king of Chu who committed suicide in the "Seven Kingdoms Rebellion".
The terracotta warriors and horses displayed in the Han Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum and the Underwater Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum are much smaller than those led by Qin Shihuang, but they are also equipped with infantry, military horses, military officers and chariots. Nearly 1000 small terracotta warriors and horses with solemn faces formed an "army of the undead". The terracotta warriors and horses here, like the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, had bright colors when they were first unearthed, but they were oxidized and faded because of inadequate protection technology. Therefore, the third pit on the side has not been officially cleaned and excavated.
Explore ancient tombs: Lion Mountain, Guishan Mountain and Beidongshan Mountain.
At present, most of the unearthed cultural relics of these three Han tombs are collected in Xuzhou Museum, but the original sites are still worth exploring by travelers who love history. In addition to the Lion Mountain introduced earlier, Guishan Mountain and Beidongshan Mountain are also well preserved.
Guishan Han Tomb: Walking into this Han tomb, which is superior in scale and fineness to the Lion Mountain Chu Tomb, you will find exquisite works in the tomb, including the gatehouse, living room, well, kitchen, weapon room and other "luxury houses".
Han Tomb in Beidongshan: If you want to go to a tomb that tourists seldom visit, then this Han tomb with inconvenient transportation should be included in the itinerary. The biggest feature of this unknown Wang Chu tomb is the compound structure attached to it. During the whole visit, you may be the only one who walks alone in the cold and humid tomb, and so will those who like grave-robbing notes and ghost-blowing lanterns.
Han portrait stone art museum
Hudong road
9:00~ 17:00
Located on the east bank of yunlong lake under Yunlong Mountain, there are more than 600 exquisite Han Dynasty stone reliefs, including myths and legends, historical stories and real life. The aesthetic art of painting reached the peak of that era.
Wandering around, feeling the Chinese style and appreciating the creativity of Chinese painting will make people feel relaxed and happy. The best way to visit is to rent an electronic translator, and then wander around in stone paintings to "roam" the Han Dynasty. The treasures of the town hall include Niu Geng Map, Textile Map, Nine Lions Map, Welcome Map, Hundred Plays Map, Lux Map, etc. The 8-meter-long "Return from the Thief" is worth seeing.
Stroll through the ancient city of Xuzhou
Starting point: "thoroughfare of five provinces" archway; End point: Li Keran Art Museum
Distance: about 3 kilometers; Time required: 2 hours
Throughout the ages, Xuzhou has been preserved in the streets of the ancient city. Visiting all the way can make you look brand new. There is an archway on the east side of Qingyun Bridge across the ancient Yellow River, and the word "thoroughfare of five provinces" covers the prominent position of the ancient city. The yellow house nearby was built in memory of Mr Dongpo. In front of the yellow house, there is a real iron cow, which is rubbed smoothly by people. Enter Pengcheng No.1 from Taohuawu to the south, which is the busiest commercial street in Xuzhou at present.
Further on Heqing Road is Xuzhou No.2 Middle School. There is a Confucian temple built in the early Ming Dynasty on campus, leaving only Dacheng Gate and Dacheng Hall. During lunch break, you can go in with the permission of the doorman. There is a sign "Xuzhou Zero Kilometers" in the south of Pengcheng Square nearby. Cross Huaihai Road, the main road, to Datong Street, which used to be the earliest asphalt road and commercial center in Xuzhou. The Bell and Drum Tower in Datong Street was the landmark building of that year. Buy a glass of frog fish in the frog fish shop on Hua Shao Street next to it, and drink it while walking.
Go on, cross the gate of the Garden Hotel, and you will arrive at the Old East Gate. Go out from the east and back doors of the old gate and enter Zhu Min South Road. Turn left at the intersection of Qingnian Road. There is an old community in Xuzhou where Wan Wen and antique shops gather. There is a Ma Shijie sugar factory along Qingnian Road to the west. 1 1:00 You can go in and have a bowl of soup before closing time. Further on, the towering Romanesque building on the north road is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a century-old church, and a holy place for Catholicism in Xuzhou. There is a buddhist nun across the street, and there is no original sin. Turn left along Jiefang Road and enter Kuaizaiting Park. This park is named after Su Shi's "Happy Phoenix House". There is the only ancient city wall in Xuzhou on the south wall, and there is a flower and bird antique market outside the wall.
Just cross the Jianguo Community across the street? Li Keran Art Museum. Go west through Jiefang Road, right? Hubushan Scenic Area, where ancient houses and museums show the ancient folk life in Xuzhou. Today, Hubushan still has a large number of residential courtyards. Walking on Xiangwang Road and Zhuangyuan Street, looking at the historic sites, exquisite carvings and towering corners in front of and behind the house, I inadvertently walked past once famous people.
Laodongmen
Xuzhou Huaihai East Road 104 is a blue-gray building complex full of the style of the Republic of China. It used to be the location of the East Gate of Xuzhou City in the early Ming Dynasty, and now the locals habitually call it the "Old East Gate". Walking into the gate of combining Chinese and western styles, you can see the remains of ancient city walls and modern bunkers in the courtyard. Nowadays, in the old East Gate, old buildings have been renovated into new fashion places, and new formats such as restaurants and bars have settled in. There are German beer bars, Korean barbecue houses and Japanese restaurants, which are very lively at night.
Yunlong park
Yunlong lake, with a water surface of nearly 7 square kilometers, is adjacent to Yunlong Mountain in the east. The north shore of yunlong lake is the scenic spot of Binhu Park, and the east side of Hudong Road is a number of small scenic spots connected in series with the history of Xuzhou. From north to south, there are Sanrang Pavilion, Liu Beiquan, Han Stone Relief Art Museum, ji zi Hanging Sword Platform and Sugong Tower in turn. Hunan Road passes through a small South Lake with a strong charm of the south of the Yangtze River, and there are many high-end restaurants and hotels. Zhushan Uplift is located in the south of yunlong lake, where there is Tianshiling Waterfall built in memory of Zhang Tianshi, a native of Fengxian County, and the hidden gallery nearby will bring different water features.
Yaowan ancient town around Xuzhou
The ancient town of Yaowan was once prosperous in the prime time of the Grand Canal in Ming and Qing Dynasties. During the Republic of China, there were more than 300 firms, banks, chambers of commerce and workshops, which were called "little shanghai in northern Jiangsu".
The most distinctive building in Yaowan is the turret. Today, there are still three newly built gun towers: the northernmost landmark building is inlaid with stone carvings at the junction of Su and Pi, and there are bullet marks left by the Huaihai Campaign on one wall; West Street and Zhongning Street under the central artillery are the main remaining blocks of the ancient town. Outside the south gate is the canal pier. You can take a speedboat from the canal to the sand island in luoma lake, and there are ordinary ferries to the other side of the canal.
Shuiyue temple
Baitanghe Wetland Park on Xiapi Avenue
Buddhist temples in the traditional sense are always inseparable from the mysterious and solemn halls with yellow walls and cornices. The Shuiyue Temple in Suining County, on the other hand, has made an alternative interpretation of Buddhist architecture with modern aesthetics and brand-new architectural forms.
Zen temples are buildings with simple lines, and there is no big roof, but they are replaced by squares. The facade is not a brick wall, but a wood-like grille. The root of the grille goes straight into the sky and forms a bright corridor with the inner layer. This structural form makes the whole building have an effect of "real but empty, moving but stagnant, soft and transparent".
Arrival transportation: take the shuttle bus to Gupi or Pizhou at Suining West Bus Station (6: 00 ~ 18: 00, 15 minutes, 1 shift) and tell the driver to get off at the west gate of Baitanghe Wetland Park. 20 yuan takes the most taxis from West Bus Station.

The delicious food that embodies the uninhibited character of Xuzhou people is the ground pot, the pot bottom with heavy color and strong fragrance, the dark stove rack and the noisy environment. Authentic and simple food styles will leave a deep impression on you. In addition to local home-cooked dishes such as pot, steamed stuffed bun and thousand knives of meat, Xuzhou also has the tradition of eating mutton.
Different from the habit of eating pork in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Xuzhou mutton soup is unique in Jiangsu cuisine. Mutton and mutton offal are rough to cook in one pot, and a pot of milky thick soup needs fine heat. In winter, besides eating mutton soup to keep warm, there is also the tradition of eating mutton soup for tonic in rainy days, which is said to come from Peng Zu's health secret recipe.
The most legendary are two famous foods: sheep hide fish, from which the word "fresh" composed of sheep and fish comes into being; Wild chicken soup is an old hen soup that people still love to eat today. It is said that Peng Zujin cured Yao Di's illness with this soup. For thousands of years, cooking technology has naturally undergone considerable improvement and changes, but today you can still taste these delicious foods on the streets of Xuzhou, such as fish and mutton in Liu Wu Mutton Restaurant and Ma Shijie soup evolved from wild chicken soup.
Where to eat?
There are three places where food gathers: Julong Night Market in the alley next to the Second Hospital, with lively stalls; Located in Jiahe East Street 18 18 food city in the south of Huanglou, small shops with various tastes are clustered together; There are many restaurants in Xintiandi near Yunlong Lake, which are both emotional and delicious.
