1. First, double-click the desktop Word shortcut with the mouse to open a Word document. After the document is opened, click the Insert function in the function bar above the Word window.
2. Click the Insert function, and then use the mouse to insert the shape tool under the function bar. Click the shape tool and a drop-down menu will appear. Click the Line Tool in the Line Tool above the drop-down menu.
3. Click on the straight line and automatically return to the document. Find a suitable starting point of a straight line on the document, then drag the mouse in the direction where you want to draw a straight line, and click again at the end point, so that the straight line is drawn.
Draw straight lines and double lines with the keyboard
Drawing a straight line with the keyboard is to click the minus sign three times on the keyboard, and then click Enter, and the straight line will be drawn automatically.
If you draw a double straight line with the keyboard, you have to press the equal sign key three times on the keyboard, and then press Enter, so that the double straight line will automatically appear.
