1. Symptom 1: onychomycosis: Fungi invade from the side edge or front edge of the nail and develop backward along the deck, forming loose keratin debris, which accumulates under the nail, making the nail thick, uneven and inclined, and separating the deck from the nail bed. The leading edge disk looks like insect erosion and is very incomplete. If it takes a long time, the nails will look rotten.
2. Symptom 2: Superficial white onychomycosis: Fungi invade from the nail surface, forming plastic white turbid spots, which often lead to deck deformation, thickening and brittleness for a long time. The number of nails affected varies, ranging from 1 ~ 2 to most or all fingers (toes) in severe cases. Generally, there are no conscious symptoms: the course of disease is slow, and if it is not treated, it will not be cured for a long time.
3. Symptom 3: Visually, the deck becomes turbid and opaque, and the deck thickens, which can exceed 1 ~ 3 times of the normal deck. The surface of the deck is rough and looks dull. In severe cases, there may be grooves, cracks, bulges and irregular spots on the deck, which are insect bites, and the nails are weak in elasticity and easy to break. The damaged fragments on the deck can be dirty gray, brown, white, yellow, black, etc.
Matters needing attention
Patients with onychomycosis must not eat irritating food in their lives, and pay attention to personal hygiene. Don't wear the same pair of gloves with others, avoid infecting others with onychomycosis, actively treat them, and don't feel that it is not serious.
