Hematology, a national key discipline, is first-class in China, and has achieved fruitful results in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, thrombosis and hemostasis, blood immunity, leukemia and other fields. Professor Song Shanjun and Professor Zou Ping successfully carried out the first allogeneic bone marrow transplantation in Central and South China. The Institute has established good cooperative relations with China Bone Marrow Bank and Taiwan Province Tzu Chi bone marrow donor Center. This stem cell center is the first center in Central and South China to receive cell therapy. Professor Huang Shi 'ang and others have developed internationally advanced autoimmune cell reinfusion therapy to treat tumors and viral diseases, which has become a new means to remove residual tumor cells and prevent tumor recurrence and metastasis.
Pet research and application center
The first PET research and application center in Central China, chaired by Professor Zhang, has the world-class PET-CT and cyclotron, which can provide detailed molecular information of lesion function and metabolism. Professor Du Jingyuan and Professor Yang Shuhua of Orthopaedics took the lead in carrying out all kinds of artificial joint replacement surgery in China, which was at the leading level.
Hand surgery is the first in China to carry out a variety of difficult microsurgical operations, such as replantation of severed fingers, replantation of severed limbs, and transplantation of free toes to reconstruct fingers. From 65438 to 0998, Professor Wang Guobin, Ruan Qinglan, Lu Xiaoming and Tang Shaotao took the lead in carrying out laparoscopic surgery for congenital intestinal malformation in children in China. General surgery has made great breakthroughs in minimally invasive treatment of liver, biliary tract, spleen, stomach and small intestine diseases and colorectal diseases.
Professor Wang's "Three-dimensional Ultrasound Imaging Methodology and Clinical Application" won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2005. Professor Wang and other two achievements, Research on Hydrogen Peroxide Echocardiography and Clinical Application of Transesophageal Echocardiography, won the third prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award 1985 and 1998 respectively. Professor Chuanguo Xiao, the chief scientist of the National 973 Program and an expert in urology, pioneered the reconstruction of bladder function for paraplegic patients with external nerve instead of central nerve in the world.
200 1 won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress. This theory was successfully applied to the treatment of urinary incontinence in children caused by spina bifida meningocele, and this achievement won the highest international neurourology award-lapidus Special Award twice in 2003 and 2005.
In 2005, through multidisciplinary cooperation with pediatric surgery, the seventh conjoined child separation operation in China and the first conjoined child separation operation in Hubei Province were successfully completed, and the conjoined little sister has lived a healthy life so far.
