Gaofeng Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit in Fuzhou City.
Gaofeng Bridge is located on the Luzhuang River outside the west gate of Fuzhou Fucheng, connecting Chaixiang in the north and Gaofengli in the south.
The bridge is a stone flat beam bridge, 13.90 meters long, 3.64 meters wide, and 7.50 meters in span. The bridge deck is paved with seven stone slopes. The bridge railings are composed of four facing columns and six stone railings. The railings are 1.80 meters long and are embossed with patterns such as cranes, carps, unicorns, and flowers. There are stone steps at both ends of the bridge, four steps at the south end and eight steps at the north end.
There is an ancient banyan tree on the south bank of the west side of the bridge, leaning towards the center of the river. One of its aerial roots fell to the north bank and took root and grew, forming a spectacle of "feet across both banks of the river and body in the middle of the river", commonly known as "human beings". Zi Rong". A pavilion was built under the tree to worship Emperor Xuan (Zhenwu). The title of "Huaili Pavilion" was written by Ou Yang, and the couplet said: "The tall and sturdy banyan trees lead to the west stream, and the peaks and ancient bridges connect to the lake embankment."
There is a small hexagonal pavilion on the north bank of the west side of the bridge, named Gaofeng Pavilion.
The river on the east side of the bridge is now used as an outdoor activity platform by nearby residents. There is an ancient banyan tree on the east bank of the platform. The platform is close to the original Xiaowen Temple (which has been demolished) on the south bank. The couplet reads: "Male and female travelers pass by the stubborn stone bridge, and the strange banyan tree opens its mouth to talk about ancient and modern ships." This vividly describes the unique landscape effect of the Gaofeng Bridge and the herringbone banyan tree.
