1, temperature control
Pearl plum likes light and has strong cold resistance, so it needs to provide sufficient light during daily maintenance. Plants can be placed outdoors to receive sufficient sunlight, and the temperature should be kept between 10-25 degrees, while the light acceptance rate should be kept at 60% when the sunlight is strong in summer.
Step 2 choose soil
When cultivating Pearl Plum bonsai, try to choose loose and fertile soil with good drainage, air permeability and water retention, and mix silt, humus soil, bone meal and vermiculite into the garden soil to enhance the permeability and fertility of the soil.
3. Dressing and shaping
Pearl plum bonsai can be shaped by pruning and twisting. After the plants germinate, the redundant buds and branches are removed to adjust the growth direction of Sorbaria sorbifolia. When rolling, the metal wire is wound around the trunk, and then the branch is bent, and the other end of the metal wire is connected with the bent part.
Breeding mode of pearl plum
The propagation of Sorbaria sorbifolia is mainly ramet propagation, but also sowing propagation. However, because the seeds are small, the way of sowing is not adopted. Generally, ramets are propagated before germination in spring or after defoliation in autumn. Dig out the budding seedlings by roots and plant them in clusters of 3-5 plants. When planting, apply 2 liters of compost as base fertilizer in the hole, and then water it after planting. After 1 week, water it 1 time until it survives.
Plants over 5 years old can grow into a big crown. Before germination in early spring, the soil around the old plant can be dug up, and then the surrounding roots and tillers can be cut off from the mother body one by one, and then moved into the nursery for culture. After 1 year, the seedlings can grow out of the nursery. Sowing method can be used for mass propagation of seedlings. The seeds are stored dry and sown in the following spring.
