Germination time of pepper

The germination time of Zanthoxylum bungeanum should be determined according to the region and germination mode. Usually, the germination time is in August and September in the north of China, and around June in the southwest.

Zanthoxylum bungeanum bud grafting method

The germination of Zanthoxylum bungeanum should start in the vigorous growth period, and the main method is to cut off the bark of the rootstock about 5cm from the ground; Then do vertical cutting at the crosscutting position to form a T-shape, then do crosscutting at the position 0.3-0.4 cm above the grafted bud, and cut the wooden part from bottom to top; Finally, pinch the base of the petiole and push it aside, then pick off the bud, pick up the cortex of the rootstock incision with the tip of the knife, insert the bud into the incision, align the top of the bud with the crosscut of the rootstock, then tie it up and fix it with a film strip from top to bottom.

Matters needing attention in pepper bud receiving

1. Bud axis is the conducting tissue between stem and bud. There is no problem in cutting buds, so be sure to pay attention when peeling buds. 2. Petiole is a sign to identify whether grafting is alive or not. With the healing of the grafting interface, the grafted bud expands hour by hour and will fall off in 7- 10 days, otherwise it will be grafted in time. 3. The petiole left on the rootstock seedling must be a shriveled bud, which should be cut off in time after it becomes visible. After the grafted bud survives, the upper part of the bud mouth should be cut off. 4. It is more difficult to master bud embedding and cutting than bud peeling. It is common to cut down all the wood, so even if you survive, you will not be very energetic. The reason is that the essence is necrotic and the skin graft is alive. The wood is under the bud cutting piece, and the bud axis is as important as stripping the bud. 5. The best bud selection position on the scion is the middle section above the dead bud at the base of the fruit branch and below the top half wood. 6. For grafted trees with a slightly thicker rootstock skin, the removed rootstock skin must be used to make up or exceed the marriage interface, so as to avoid the grafting buds being tied tightly and leaving the rootstock stem to affect the survival.
