Oral ulcer, commonly known as "aphtha", is a common ulcerative injury disease occurring in oral mucosa, which is more common in the inner lip, tongue, tongue abdomen, buccal mucosa, vestibular groove, soft palate and other parts. The mucosa in these parts lacks keratinization layer or is poorly keratinized. Tongue ulcer refers to the oral ulcer that occurs in the tongue and the abdomen of the tongue. Systemic diseases, heredity, immunity and microorganisms may play an important role in the occurrence and development of oral ulcer. For example, the deficiency and malnutrition of trace elements such as zinc, iron, folic acid and vitamin B 12 will reduce immune function and increase the possibility of oral ulcer; Bacteria such as Streptococcus sanguis and Helicobacter pylori are also closely related to oral ulcers. Oral ulcers usually indicate that there may be potential systemic diseases in the body. Oral ulcer is related to gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, ulcerative colitis, localized enteritis, hepatitis, menstrual period of women, vitamin B absorption disorder, autonomic nervous dysfunction and so on.
