outline

1946 graduated from Xiangya Medical College (now Xiangya Medical College of Central South University). After graduation, I stayed in the Department of Anatomy for two years as an assistant, then worked as a surgeon, attending physician and lecturer in Xiangya Hospital, and then worked as a professor of neurosurgery and doctoral supervisor in Xiangya Hospital affiliated to Central South University. He used to be the standing member of the Society of Neurosurgery of Chinese Medical Association, the chairman of the Hunan Society of Neurosurgery, and the chairman of Hunan Branch of Chinese Medical Association. At present, he is the editorial board member and academic consultant of various domestic neurosurgical journals, a member of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies, and an honorary member of the Neurooncology Professional Committee of China Anti-Cancer Association.

life experience

Professor Cao has been engaged in neurosurgery medical treatment, teaching and scientific research for 60 years, and began to preside over the establishment of neurosurgery in Xiangya Hospital on 1954. Iodine oil ventriculography was first developed in China, which improved the localization and diagnosis level of midline space occupying lesions in ventricular system at that time. In 1970s, Professor Cao began to devote himself to the research of intracranial pressure and intracranial pressure monitoring. The application of intracranial pressure monitoring in severe craniocerebral trauma and the determination of brain tissue proportion by specific gravity method were introduced for the first time in China, and the water content and proportion of normal brain tissue in China were announced for the first time. The first and second national academic conferences on brain edema and intracranial pressure were held in 1988 and 1992, respectively, and served as the vice chairman and chairman of the conference. Since the early 1990s, the National Academic Conference on Intracranial Pressure has been held in Wuxi for many times, serving as a member and spokesman of the presidium, which has played an important role in promoting and improving the academic level of intracranial pressure brain edema in China. He has taught undergraduate classes in Xiangya Medical College for decades, and his teaching is simple and well received. 1985 was rated as an advanced teacher of Xiangya Medical College. Eight master students and 22 doctoral students have been trained.

Publish a work

1946 Up to now, he has published more than 20 papers 120, edited Intracranial Pressure and Intracranial Pressure, and won the Excellent Scientific and Technological Works Award of the Ministry of Health 1996 and the third prize of scientific and technological progress. The paper "Clearance of brain edema fluid in patients with severe craniocerebral injury under different intracranial pressure levels" (English) was published in JournalofEurope. This study proved for the first time at home and abroad that ventricular drainage can remove brain edema fluid and discharge it with cerebrospinal fluid to reduce intracranial pressure, and won the second prize of medical and health scientific and technological achievements of the Ministry of Health 1985. The series of studies on intracranial pressure and brain edema won the first prize of scientific and technological progress award of Hunan Provincial Health Department 1998. A series of studies on microsurgical resection of suprasellar and parasellar meningiomas won the third prize of the Ministry of Health for scientific and technological progress 1997. 1999 editor-in-chief "Children's brain edema and intracranial hypertension" was well received by international brain edema experts. 1957- 1959 has won the title of advanced health worker in our university, Changsha and Hunan province for many times, and once represented Hunan province in 1959 National Day Ceremony and 10 National Liberation Day. 1990 was awarded the honorary certificate of "remarkable achievements in higher education science and technology for forty years" by the State Education Commission. In 2000, he was awarded the certificate of "Thank you for your contribution to the development of neurosurgery in China" by the Neurosurgery Branch of Chinese Medical Association.
