Indications of gastrojejunostomy
For pyloric obstruction caused by gastric cancer, if the tumor is fixed and cannot be removed, gastrojejunostomy can be performed to relieve the obstruction. Gastric ulcer causes pyloric obstruction, which is too severe to tolerate partial gastrectomy. Because of low gastric acid, these patients can be treated with gastrojejunostomy. Duodenal ulcer complicated with pyloric obstruction, the patient's condition is poor and he can't tolerate subtotal gastrectomy. Vagotomy is feasible to reduce gastric acid, and gastric drainage (such as pyloroplasty, gastroduodenostomy or gastrojejunostomy) can be added to relieve gastric content retention.
