The No.455 Hospital of China People's Liberation Army is a comprehensive third-class first-class hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. The hospital is the Second Military Medical University, the Clinical Teaching Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, the post-doctoral research sub-station of Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region, the doctoral training point of School of Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and the postgraduate training point of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

455 Hospital has a history of more than 70 years. Its predecessor was Shanghai Ji Min Hospital founded by American Relief Society and Christian Hospital founded by American missionary Mr. M.
