(1) casting
Generally, blanks having various shapes can be manufactured by casting. At present, sand casting is mostly used for castings, and special casting can be used for small castings with high dimensional accuracy, such as permanent casting, precision casting, pressure casting, investment casting and centrifugal casting.
(2) Forgings
The forging blank can obtain continuous and uniform metal fiber structure after forging. Therefore, forgings have good mechanical properties and are often used in important steel parts with complex stress. Among them, the precision and productivity of free forgings are low, which is mainly used for small batch production and large forgings manufacturing. Model forgings have high dimensional accuracy and productivity, and are mainly used for small and medium-sized forgings with large output.
(3) Introduction
Profiles mainly include plates, bars and wires. Common cross-sectional shapes are round, square, hexagon and special cross-sectional shapes. As for its manufacturing methods, it can be divided into two categories: hot rolling and cold drawing. Hot rolled profiles are large in size and low in precision, and are used for general mechanical parts. Cold-drawn profiles are small in size and high in precision, and are mainly used for small and medium-sized parts with high blank precision requirements.
(4) Welded parts
Welded parts are mainly used for single piece and small batch production and trial production of large parts and prototypes. Its advantages are simple manufacture, short production cycle, material saving and light weight. However, it has poor vibration resistance and large deformation, so it can only be processed after aging treatment.
(5) Other blanks
Other blanks include stamping parts, powder metallurgy parts, cold extrusion parts, plastic pressed parts, etc.
