Before operation
Look at the precautions before operation in detail.
Communicate the expected results with the doctor.
Pre-operation related examination preparation: blood drawing, electrocardiogram and X-ray.
There is no food and water (tea, coffee, etc. 8 hours before the operation.
Preoperative photography
Tell the doctor whether there is any abnormal physiological condition or disease.
Operation day
Don't come by bike or car.
Need to be hospitalized 1~2 nights
After anesthesia, analgesic drugs will be injected to relieve the pain of the wound; After eating every other day, take analgesic drugs orally for 3~5 days.
(The wound oozes blood obviously after mandibular angle resection. It is necessary to install a drainage tube to drain the residual blood in the body and avoid hematoma, and take it out the next day after operation. )
After surgery
You can start eating cold liquid food on the second day after operation and start using preventive oral antibiotics for 5~7 days.
Rinse your mouth often with boiling water to keep your mouth clean; Use mouthwash after eating and drinking to avoid wound infection.
Ice for at least 3 days, and then you can change the temperature.
If there are minor abrasions around the mouth, keep it clean with boiling water and apply ointment.
You can wash your face, take a bath and wash your hair, but you can't use hot water.
Within 1 month after operation, do not exert force on the face to avoid bleeding and reduce the sequelae of skin drooping. If bleeding occurs, immediately press the wound to stop bleeding and apply ice. It should stop automatically after 15 minutes. If you still can't stop bleeding, continue to press the wound and seek medical attention immediately.
Postoperative recovery
The pain of zygomatic surgery is very mild, and the pain of mandibular surgery is more obvious. The closer you get to your chin, the more obvious it is, because there are mandibular nerves passing by. Swelling is a physiological reaction caused by any operation. The main stages include: bleeding (early stage), inflammatory reaction (middle stage) and lymphatic circulation obstruction (late stage). The degree of swelling and bruising varies from person to person, and the situation of most people is as follows:
Day 1~3
The bleeding of the wound is still slow and persistent, so the wound will become more and more swollen and the congestion will become more and more obvious. Most people will be afraid of it. In fact, this is normal, so the wound should be bandaged with elastic bandage, continuously iced, kept in an elevated posture, and thoroughly rested.
Day 3~4
When stopping bleeding, it is the most severe swelling and the most obvious bruising. The inflammatory reaction began to get worse, and the wound swelled with obvious fever, but the pain continued to decrease.
Day 5~6
The peak of swelling has passed, and signs of swelling have begun to appear, and the bruises have begun to fade and turn yellow, but the color is still obvious.
Day 7 ~ 10
Close observation period of wound inflammation: under normal circumstances, the wound is no longer painful, the swelling is still going on, the bruise may have subsided, and the speech can be obviously restored. If the wound suddenly swells, it becomes more painful and swollen, which means there is inflammation and needs the doctor's diagnosis and treatment, so this period is usually the first time to see a doctor after surgery.
Day 10~ 14
The swelling has been eliminated by more than 50%, and the bruises have been removed, leaving only some slight yellow ecchymosis on the neck. You can go out to work at this time, but you can still see the swelling on your face. Some people will find a white lie to explain it to avoid interpersonal embarrassment.
2 weeks after operation 1 month.
The speed of swelling reduction is slow because the inflammatory reaction has been transformed into the reorganization stage, and the change is very slow. This is the most important time to prevent skin relaxation and help skin shrink. It is best to continue to use supportive elastic bandages to help shape the skin.
65438+ 0~2 months after operation
Wound reorganization is still going on, and lymphatic circulation has not been re-established, so the swelling will rise and fall, which will change with the amount of drinking water and the position. You can gently press it with your hand to help reduce swelling, but you can't rub it. Most of these phenomena can be ignored and will naturally recede. At this time, the surgical effect will gradually appear, so wait patiently.
2~6 months after operation
The physiological cycle of postoperative wound reorganization is 3-6 months, including skin contraction and bone regeneration. It is suggested to avoid eating hard food for at least half a year to help bones heal and prevent bone regeneration. In addition, it takes several months to complete the establishment of lymphatic circulation. During this time, the wound has not changed much, but it will gradually reduce swelling and feel thinner, so the final time to fix the face is 6 months.
