How to manage and cultivate cut roses in greenhouse?

Greenhouse has a special cultivation environment, which is conducive to the growth of cut flowers and can obtain more and better flower branches. Therefore, besides referring to the above cultivation methods, there are several special management measures that should be paid attention to.

1. Light and temperature control in greenhouse

Chinese rose is a light-loving plant, and good cut flowers can only be obtained in sufficient sunshine. Conditional artificial shading in greenhouse can avoid the damage of strong light in summer, and in winter, fluorescent lamps can be used to supplement the lack of light. Attention should be paid to ventilation and cooling when it is hot in summer, and heating with electric heating wire can be used in winter. For large greenhouses, steam or oil is often used to heat and keep the temperature above 1℃.

2. Top dressing in greenhouse

Generally, cut rose plants need to be replaced after 4 years of cultivation. During this period, the demand for fertilizer is great due to the continuous picking of cut flowers. It can be used to prepare a comprehensive fertilizer with full nutrition. Add 6 grams of calcium nitrate, 16 grams of potassium nitrate, 12 grams of potassium chloride (6%), 7 grams of ammonium nitrate, 1 grams of magnesium sulfate and 4 grams of phosphoric acid (85%) into 1 liter of water to make a stock solution, and add 1 times of water when applying.

3. coring and bud thinning

(1) coring

its purpose is to make the lateral branches at the lower part of the main stem develop well and form strong flower branches. When the new shoots grow to 15-2 cm, remove about 3 cm from the top, so that they can continue to shoot lateral branches, and then pick the core for 1-2 times after reaching a certain length until the number of main branches and lateral branches of the whole plant is enough to produce a large number of flowers.

(2) Sparse buds

For some single-headed species with large flowers, three buds will grow on the branches, with a main bud in the middle and a secondary bud next to it. At this time, it is necessary to leave the main bud and remove the auxiliary buds on both sides, so that the nutrition of the solitary flower is concentrated, and the flower is large and colorful with high value. Some varieties have the characteristics of many flowers in one branch, and the flowers in the middle often bloom early and wither early, so they can be cut off first to promote the development of side flowers. In order to cultivate the updated branches, the buds at the top of the stout branches extracted from the base of the trunk and the buds from the new shoots of the grafted seedlings should be removed in time to make the trunk fully developed and well branched. In addition, the buds formed in midsummer will bloom when they are not fully developed due to the high temperature, and have no commercial value. Therefore, both seedlings and adult plants should control the Shirley, pick the buds when they see them, prevent them from blooming, and concentrate nutrients on cultivating branches to make them bloom well in autumn, which is especially important for varieties with weak branches and weak growth potential.

4. Pruning

Plastic pruning is a very important link in the cultivation and management of cut rose, and reasonable pruning and maintenance are the main factors to adjust the flowering period and prolong the flowering period of the plant. One way of pruning is gradual replacement pruning, that is, after the first harvest of cut flowers in spring, the whole plant is left about 6 cm, and some of them will bloom again, and some of them will be cut short. After the short-cut new branches bloom, some of the original flowers will be cut short again to make them bloom in turn, so that the plants will not grow too fast. The other is the one-time unified cutting method. After harvesting the first batch of cut flowers in May, all of them are cut into shrubs of 45 ~ 6 cm.
