Fertilizer and water management
Boxwood in Phnom Penh is barren-tolerant, but it is suitable for growing in fertile, moist and slightly acidic soil. Adhering to the principle of watering when dry, keep the soil moist, especially when it is hot in summer, water it in the morning and evening to keep the leaves moist. Root rot caused by stagnant water should also be avoided in rainy season. Fertilization is based on the principle of thin fertilizer and diligent application, with quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer as the main fertilizer, and fertilization is carried out three or four times a year. Apply organic fertilizer in early spring to promote the growth of boxwood. In autumn, in order to restore the growth of plants in summer and supplement nutrition, inorganic fertilizer or garbage miscellaneous fertilizer should be applied in early winter. During this period, fertilization can be carried out once or twice according to the growth situation.
Proper pruning
Cut off the long branches, overlapping branches and redundant branches that affect the tree shape at any time during the growth period to ensure good ventilation and light transmission in the plant growth environment. It germinates quickly. Generally, after new buds germinate, the top 1 ~ 2 nodes are cut off to prevent overgrowth. Pick the fruit in time to avoid consuming too much nutrients and affecting the growth of the plant.
Eliminate pests and diseases
First of all, strengthen the maintenance and management of seedlings and improve their disease resistance; Cut off diseased or withered branches in time and destroy them centrally to reduce the source of infection. Once pests and diseases occur, measures should be taken in time, and chemicals should be used to prevent and control them when necessary.
