The Medical College of Yanbian University, formerly known as Yanbian Medical College, was founded in 1949 and is a higher medical education institution directly under the People's Government of Jilin Province. In the first few years, the college experienced some changes and developments. Until 1996, Yanbian Medical College and Yanbian University merged to become the current Yanbian University Medical College.
