Pruning method of fig in summer 1, topping.
In the middle of May every year, fig leaves about 30 cm for coring to promote the secondary branches to differentiate into flower buds. For the long branches sprouting in the roots and other parts, when they grow to 20 cm, core removal and topping are carried out to promote their full development and sprout new branches.
Step 2 prune useless branches
When pruning in summer, the useless growth, old branches and weak branches of figs should be cut off, which can be carried out in the early stage of germination to reduce the consumption of nutrients. If pruned in winter, it will leave a big wound, which is not conducive to the growth and development of figs.
Step 3 trim and reshape
After the newly planted fig seedlings have new branches, three new branches with suitable angles and directions are selected as main branches, and other new branches are used as auxiliary branches after coring, so as to sparse the useless new branches, so as to promote the vigorous growth and beautiful tree shape of figs.
4. Maintenance methods
Before fig planting, sufficient decomposed miscellaneous fertilizers should be applied to the soil, and then basal fertilizers should be applied after defoliation. Phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be topdressing in the new shoot growth period and fruit expansion period. Note that figs are not resistant to waterlogging, and pay attention to clear accumulated water in time after rain to avoid root rot.
