1. Purpose: Lower body temperature, reduce local swelling, reduce congestion or bleeding, limit the spread of inflammation and suppuration, and reduce pain.
2. Indications: Suitable for cooling children with fever above 38℃; this method is suitable for children with high fever, red complexion, irritability, burning hands and feet, etc. who are in the heat dissipation stage.
3. Prepare ice packs or ice caps, ice bags, cloth covers, washbasins, cloth bags, wooden hammers, and ice chisels.
4. Operation method: Open the window for ventilation and keep the room temperature at about 25℃; check whether the ice bag and ice bag are damaged (Figure 2-3-6); remove the smashed small ice cubes Put it into a basin of cold water and dissolve the edges of the ice cubes; place the ice bag diagonally on the table, add ice cubes to 1/2 of the bag, and then add a little cold water; slowly flatten the ice bag so that the liquid is close to the mouth of the ice bag, and discharge the gas in the ice bag Then clamp the mouth of the ice bag; dry the ice bag, lift it up and shake, check for water leakage, and then put on the cloth cover; place the ice bag on the required part of the sick child's body; replace the ice in time after melting; remove the water in the ice bag after use Pour and drain, hang up, wash the ice pack and cover and dry them for later use.
5. Precautions: Observe the skin condition of the cold area every 10 minutes. If there is any pale, blue, ashen, trembling, pain or numbness, you must stop using it immediately; pay attention to the ice pack and ice pack at any time. There is no leakage. The cloth cover should be replaced immediately after it gets wet. After the ice melts, it should be replaced in time; the use time is generally 10 to 30 minutes or as directed by the doctor; the ice bag should be slightly more than 1/2 full after adding cold water. If the ice pack is too full, it will put too much pressure on the cold compress area and affect local blood circulation. The prohibited areas are behind the ears, precordium, abdomen, scrotum and soles of the feet. While cooling down, a hot water bottle can be placed on the soles of the feet to reduce brain tissue congestion and promote Dissipate heat and increase comfort; if used to cool down, the body temperature needs to be measured 30 minutes after using the ice pack. After the armpit ice pack is cooled, the armpit temperature measurement should not be performed within 50 minutes. Because local cold stimulation will constrict blood vessels, reduce local blood supply, decrease cell activity, and lower temperature, the local area can return to normal in 30-60 minutes.
