How does juniper maintain and spread?
Propagation method of juniper:

The first is the preparation of seedbed in the field before cutting: the seedbed should be prepared before cutting. The bed insertion should be selected on sandy soil with sufficient light and convenient watering. Juniper grows well in neutral soil and slightly acidic soil, so we should create good environmental conditions for the growth of Juniper.

Cutting selection: mother tree selection: 3-5 years old, pure variety, good growth, no pests and diseases. Selection of cuttings: 1 ~ 2-year-old stout branches, the upper and middle branches of the sunny crown of the mother tree, usually with top tips.

Pruning and cutting: cutting should be carried out in windless morning or afternoon and cloudy days, and the cutting length is 15 ~ 25 cm. Pay attention to the smoothness of cuttings, bind the trimmed cuttings into bundles and bury them in 70% wet sand for later use.

Seedling raising: when raising seedlings, the soil should not be too dry or too wet, that is, when the soil humidity reaches the level that can be dispersed by hand and then kneaded into dough by hand, rest for 1 day and start raising seedlings the next day. Don't scatter this clay ball. Seedling raising is to cut between two seedlings with a spatula, then dig out small soil balls with soil and tie them with plastic bags to prevent them from scattering.

Maintenance method of juniper:

Juniper likes warm, humid and sunny environment, and is slightly tolerant to shade, cold and drought. The made bonsai can be maintained in a sunny and well-ventilated place outdoors. Don't apply too much fertilizer, lest plants grow in vain and affect the beauty of trees. Keep the basin soil moist during the growth period, "don't water it, but water it thoroughly". Don't water halfway. When the air is dry, spray water on the blades to increase the air humidity and make the blades fresh, but pay attention to drainage even in rainy days. Apply decomposed dilute liquid fertilizer at the end of April and the beginning of September every year. In winter, put it in a cold room, or even bury it in an outdoor shelter from the wind and sun for the winter. Don't water it too much.

Pruning and shaping of juniper bonsai should be carried out in winter, and redundant branches, branches with bad angles and other branches that affect the tree shape should be cut off. For branches that are too long, you can pick the core during the growth period to promote the emergence of new buds and make the branches dense. Small bonsai is turned once every two years, and large bonsai is turned once every four to five years, usually before germination in spring. When turning over pots, diseased roots, rotten roots and some old roots should be cut off, dense roots should be thinned out, and the old soil of 1/2 ~ 1/3 should be removed and replanted with new fertile culture soil.
