The project is located in a prominent position in Shenzhen. It should be a novel, unique and unforgettable landmark building with a comprehensive symbolic image. However, the base area is quite limited, and there is not enough space to build a suitable platform. Because the standard building area required for the business of the bottom podium floor, the office of the middle floor, the hotel room and residence of the high floor is decreasing, the scheme design combines the podium and its upper floor into an independent structural whole. In this way, the problem of land shortage is solved, and coincidentally, the trapezoidal shape of the building is like an oil drilling derrick, which has also become a powerful symbol of Daqing City. In this way, rational analysis and perceptual association have achieved a perfect combination in the design.
For the trapezoidal shape of the building, based on the comprehensive consideration of pictograph, structural stability and economic rationality, the two rows of inclined columns of the building adopt a 6-degree angle, and the area of each standard floor is properly controlled, making the building more straight, beautiful and stable.
In the treatment of facade style, taking into account the historical context of Daqing city and the structural language of derrick, combined with rough and high-tech methods, the structural framework is exposed, which symbolically expresses the simplicity and strength of an industrial city.
For the further consideration of economic rationality, the building entity protrudes six floors outward at the appropriate position on the narrow upper part of the trapezoidal frame, and the lowest six-storey commercial floor also retracts inward at an angle of 6 degrees, forming a gray space of the main entrance with the wider frame at the bottom, which is conducive to attracting people. Such a figure with reasonable architectural logic and moderate proportion adds a little rhythm and movement to the simple trapezoidal framework, showing the vitality of modern industrial cities.
At the top of the building, the columns of trapezoidal frame rise from the roof in proportion and converge, and the columns are connected by transverse cables with appropriate density, which not only strengthens the wind-resistant stability of the high-altitude frame, but also forms an upward gray space. Together with the lightning protection antennas standing at the four corners, the heavy and dear building entity extends, transits and soars into the open and deep sky, which makes people have a strong admiration and lofty feeling for outstanding modern industrial technology. At the same time, the gray space cleverly hides and weakens the equipment room on the roof, which can be implanted into the roof greening as a hanging garden, where people can overlook the vast urban area of Shenzhen and the coastal beauty of Shenzhen Bay.
