Changzhou University is located in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, a famous historical and cultural city in the south of the Yangtze River with prosperous economy and rich humanities. It is a provincial full-time undergraduate college jointly established by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Corporation, China Petrochemical Group Corporation and China Offshore Oil Group Co., Ltd. The school was founded in 1978 and formerly known as Wuxi Branch and Changzhou Branch of Nanjing Institute of Chemical Technology.
198 1 With the approval of the State Council, the school was named Jiangsu Institute of Chemical Technology; 1992 became a subordinate university managed by China Petrochemical Group, and was renamed Jiangsu Institute of Petrochemical Technology; In 2002, it was renamed Jiangsu Institute of Technology; 20 10 was renamed Changzhou university.
After 42 years of development, the school has built a complete bachelor-master-doctor training system and a multi-level scientific research and social service system. In 2020, the school ranked 129 in the soft science ranking of China University and 150 in the comprehensive strength ranking of China University in Wu Shulian.
