The gums on the front teeth are often swollen and congested. What should I do?
Toothache is a common disease. Its manifestations are: redness and swelling of gums, pain caused by hot and cold stimulation, cheek swelling and so on. Toothache is mostly caused by gingivitis, periodontitis, dental caries (tooth decay) or broken teeth, resulting in dental pulp (tooth nerve) infection. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that toothache is caused by exogenous pathogenic wind, excessive stomach fire, excessive kidney deficiency and insect-eaten teeth. Gingivitis is a common periodontal tissue disease. It is caused by careless oral hygiene, soft tartar and hard tartar formed by food residues and bacteria around teeth, long-term irritation to teeth, incorrect brushing habits, vitamin deficiency and other reasons.

The gums are bright red or purplish red, swollen and soft, and sometimes the gingival margin is eroded or the inner bud tissue is proliferated and everted. When brushing teeth or eating, gums are prone to bleeding, but generally do not spontaneously bleed. Patients have no obvious symptoms, sometimes itching or swelling, and bad breath is obvious.

Periodontitis is a common oral disease with complicated etiology. Such as tartar, tartar, food with impaction, bad prosthesis and other local factors, gums are damaged, and periodontal ligament is damaged by bacteria; Obstacles in absorption and utilization of vitamin C; Vitamin D deficiency and decreased body resistance caused by various factors can cause periodontitis.

Toothache is the main symptom of this disease. At the initial stage, the gums were itchy, uncomfortable and halitosis, followed by redness, swelling, softness, easy bleeding, pain and repeated attacks. After a long time, the periodontal membranes of gums and roots are destroyed, forming a bag called periodontal pocket. The pus often overflows in the bag, and the inflammation continues to expand, which can become a periodontal abscess. The condition is aggravated, local pain and swelling, first hard and then soft, with a sense of fluctuation. It can be punctured by itself and pus flows out. After the pus is discharged, the pain can be relieved or recurred, which is very painful.
