The historical process of Yuhuangding Hospital

Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital has gone through more than a century since its establishment in 1890 by the Presbyterian Church in the United States. In its history of more than 100 years, it has experienced the periods of the United States, Japan, the Kuomintang and the People's Government of New China, and has gradually developed from a clinic into today's tertiary-level comprehensive hospital. It has not only experienced the ups and downs of history, but also written a glorious chapter of saving lives and healing the wounded; it is not only the development and change process of an ordinary hospital, but also a microcosm of the modern historical process of Chinese hospitals.

In 1890, Mrs. Guo Xiande, an American pastor, opened a clinic next to Huiwen School (now Yantai No. 2 Middle School), which became the prototype of Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital.

Dr. Hills, a graduate of Coastal University in Philadelphia, USA, plans to build a large-scale hospital based on the Yantai Clinic, and has received support from the Presbyterian Church in the United States, the Rockefeller Foundation and other non-governmental organizations. .
