Verb change rule
General verbs directly add -ed, for example: look-looked;; ;
Verbs ending in dumb e add -d directly, such as dance-danced;; ;
If the consonant letter ends in y, change y to I and then add ed, for example: study-studied;; ;
It ends with a stressed closed syllable and only one consonant at the end. Write this consonant twice and add -ed, such as skipskipped;;
For verbs ending in c, change c to ck, and then add-ed;
Verbs ending in L, if ending in unstressed syllables, can be copied or not written. Not all of them are written in American spelling. For example: Travel-Traveled/Traveled (USA);
Some verbs ending in -p also follow Article 6, and most of these words are composed of "prefix+noun". For example: worship-worry/worry (beauty), disability-disability/disability (beauty).
