How to choose scented candles?
The main components of candles are wax bases with different components. Most candles on the market use paraffin wax, which is relatively easy to produce black smoke because of its low cost. The rest are palm wax, bean wax and beeswax. Of course, the best candle is beeswax bottom and pure cotton core, which is the most environmentally friendly and harmless to human body.
Of course, taking paraffin as the matrix is not necessarily inferior to other wax species, and adding high-concentration essential oil incense sticks through good refining methods and production processes is also a good product. So, having said that, when choosing candles, you only need to pay attention objectively:
(1) Try to avoid choosing too bright candles, which is suspected of adding a lot of industrial pigments;
(2) Try to choose a candle with a larger candle surface, so that when the candle burns, the more tears accumulated on the candle surface, the stronger the fragrance will be.
(3) the rest, "the taste is your favorite" is good.
How to choose aromatherapy candles
1. Cotton wax core wood wax core
Let's start with the wax core. There are cotton wax cores and wood wax cores. I've tried both. I think the cotton core is better, because the wood of the wood core is uneven (much worse than the good one), and most of it will make a little noise when burning (PS: don't feel crooked when burning). If the wood is bad when it burns, it will smell. When the candle burns for a long time, black wood fragments will fall into the wax pool (that is, melted wax), which is not very beautiful after solidification.
wax
I am born after 90. I have known what a stone candle is since I was a child. Sometimes I light it when the power goes out, but it has branches but no taste. I wonder if my friends have any memories. So there are so many kinds of wax in incense sticks. How do we choose? The first is paraffin: paraffin has food grade (non-toxic) and industrial grade (toxic). It is recommended not to buy paraffin wax if conditions permit. I also bought paraffin wax (not to mention the specific brand, it is well-known in the market and quite cheap). I tried it and found that the fragrance came quickly, which was more fragrant than other wax candles, but I was a little tired after a while and the taste was not mild. Most importantly, if you buy cheap paraffin-scented candles, you don't know whether they are poisonous or not. It's no use if I order it once. There are good quality paraffin scented candles, but the price is "beautiful", mainly depending on your pocket. I don't recommend buying cheap paraffin scented candles.
Next is soybean wax: in fact, soybean wax is a common wax in aromatherapy candles. Bad soybean wax will have some impurities, but because it is plant wax, it has no adverse effects on human body. It is more common and the price is more common. You can try, but you haven't found any advantages yet.
Coconut wax: Actually, wax is a kind of oil, and coconut wax is also a kind of plant wax. Its raw material is coconut. Candles made of coconut wax are mild, and I sometimes put a little in my hand when the candles burn and melt. It is fragrant all night (PS: Be careful to try the temperature first. Although coconut wax is generally used at low temperature, it is safe to use. Coconut wax is harmless to human body, and it belongs to one of the milder aromatherapy candles. Coconut wax itself will be more expensive than soybean wax, so the price will be higher, but the gap will not be too big (about tens of dollars). I suggest that people who pursue a certain quality can try it.
Generally, the main materials of aromatherapy candles circulating in the market are the above three kinds of waxes. Of course, there are also many niche or luxury brands that use other waxes. If necessary, I will promote other waxes in the future. If you shop on Yitao or other online platforms, the products will generally write what wax to use. Just pay more attention. It's hard to see photos. Another way is that paraffin is hard, which will hurt your fingers when you knock. You can also judge what wax it is by hardness. Paraffin wax is harder than soybean wax and coconut wax ~
Smell
Aromatherapy candle Aromatherapy candle, what's the difference between a non-fragrant candle and an ordinary candle, but it's not only fragrant that is good? Give everyone the simplest and most convenient way to try. Generally, good quality aromatherapy candles are not super fragrant at all. If it smells super sweet at all, there may be n kinds of things in it. If you light an aromatherapy candle, it will slowly melt with the wax on the surface to form a wax pool, from light to thick (under normal circumstances, the aromatherapy candle will be lit for two to four hours at a time), which is normal. Many new contacts feel that they can't smell the incense when they are lit, and it is slow and bad to spread. Actually, it's not like this. It depends on how much you melted on the surface of the candle at that time, and of course it has something to do with ventilation and the size of your house. After a few minutes, the wax didn't melt much, and the taste was fast and exaggerated. It does not exist under normal circumstances.
Candles use small steps.
1. The candle should be burned for at least 1-2 hours after being opened and used for the first time, until the surface of the candle is completely melted, so as to keep the wax surface as flat as possible and prevent it from hanging on the wall.
2. When the candle is used for the second time, the wax core of about 6 mm should be cut off, and the blackheads formed in the last burning should be cut off, otherwise black smoke will be generated, and the outer wall of the glass will be dirty and the smell will be unpleasant.
You'd better not blow out the candle with your mouth. You can use a specially designed cover to extinguish the candle, or you can use scissors and cotton swabs to push the wick into the wax pool.
4. Avoid placing candles in direct sunlight, which can prevent candles from fading or emitting fragrance due to long-term exposure to sunlight. Refrigeration for several hours before use can slow down the burning of candles.
Maintenance skills of aromatherapy candles
1. The first reaction to extinguish the candle is to blow it off directly, but this is not desirable for aromatherapy candles. Blowing off will produce a lot of pungent candle smoke.
2. It is best not to burn incense sticks for more than two hours. The fragrance is too strong, which will cause physical discomfort.
3. Aromatherapy candles will contain a small amount of harmful substances when burning, and attention should be paid to indoor air circulation when using them.
