Song Wu Tomb is located in Xileng Bridge, Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Built in 1924 and destroyed in 1964. Now the cemetery is reconstructed from old photos. When New Records of West Lake was written (1920s), it was clear that there was a Song tomb in Xiling Bridge. The tomb was destroyed by 1955. In 2004, in order to fully tap the traditional culture of the West Lake, according to the requirements of the general public and tourists, experts and scholars demonstrated that it was decided to restore the mausoleum at the original site.
Why is there a tomb of Song Wu in Hangzhou West Lake?
Song Wu Tomb is located on the west bridge side of Beishan Street in Hangzhou, about 50 meters west of Su Xiaoxiao Tomb, facing the beautiful West Lake. The tomb of Wu in Song Dynasty is mainly composed of four parts: the tomb circle, the tombstone, the stone memorial archway and the tomb passage. On the stone pillars on both sides of the tomb of Song and Wu Paifang, there is a couplet inscribed by Feng Jicai, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and a famous writer. The tomb of Song Wu that we see now was built in 1924 and destroyed in 1964. The restored tombs are all based on the patterns in the old photos, which can be called original flavor. As the Water Margin itself is a fictional literary work, these historical sites in Hangzhou express people's emotional sustenance for heroes in a certain sense. Historical books such as Lin 'an County Records, West Lake Grand View, Hangzhou Prefecture Records, and Zhejiang Tongzhi all record the heroic feat of Song Wu, the governor of Hangzhou in the Northern Song Dynasty. In the above historical records, Song Wu was originally a Jianghu artist. He is "extremely beautiful in appearance, trying his hand outside the Golden Gate" and "not a thief". Gao Quan, the magistrate of Hangzhou, saw that Song Wu was skilled in martial arts and outstanding in talent, so he invited him to the mansion and made him the capital commander. Soon, because of his achievements, he was promoted to jurisdiction and became the confidant of the magistrate. Later, Gao Quan was dismissed because he offended powerful people and was flattered by traitors. Song Wu was also implicated and kicked out of the yamen. The successor of the new magistrate is Cai Jing's son Cai? , is a big traitor. Relying on his father's power, he abused politics and harmed the people in Hangzhou. The people complained bitterly and called him Cai? For "Cai Hu". Song Wu hated this traitor, and he was determined to risk his life to harm the people. One day, he hid a sword in front of Cai's house, waiting for Cai? On the occasion of crowding round, the arrow rushed forward and asked Cai? Stabbed him several times and killed him immediately. Officers and men swarmed to besiege Song Wu, and eventually Song Wu was captured by officers and men because he was outnumbered. He died in prison after being severely punished. The local "people deeply felt their virtue and were buried by the Xiling Bridge in Hangzhou", and later generations erected a monument titled "Tomb of the Song Dynasty".
