What are the types of jaw diseases?
(1) Jaw plastic surgery: It can be divided into macrognathia and micrognathia.

Macrognathia: Most of them are congenital. When suffering from jaw bone, it will be accompanied by maxillary protrusion (the maxillary arch is large and the teeth protrude forward); Macrognathia is accompanied by mandibular protrusion. No matter what the symptoms are, the occlusion of the teeth is not good.

Microjaw deformity: It is congenital, and many of them are caused by maxillary and mandibular dysplasia caused by trauma and jaw inflammation in early childhood. Microjaw is commonly seen in patients with cleft palate. From the appearance, mandibular protrusion, from the side, looks like a bird's face, as if there is maxillary protrusion.

Jaw deformity can be treated with plastic surgery, and abnormal occlusion of teeth should be corrected at the same time.

(2) Maxillary inflammation: a general term for suppurative diseases centered on the jaw, including pericoronitis of wisdom teeth, alveolar osteitis, jaw inflammation, floor of mouth inflammation, etc. The reason is purulent bacterial infection, mostly secondary to dental caries, alveolar abscess and impacted wisdom teeth. This condition is also called odontitis.

In addition, it is also caused by secondary infections such as salivary stones, trauma and jaw cysts.

The symptom of gingivitis is sudden and severe toothache, swelling and pus around this part, and local body temperature also rises. It can get better about 1 week after acute, but sometimes it will become chronic.

Acute jaw inflammation in infants is prone to bone decay (osteonecrosis), which in turn leads to micrognathia and jaw joint adhesion.

In treatment, according to the state of swelling and fever, it is necessary to keep quiet and sometimes need to be hospitalized. Drug treatment can be carried out, but after the pus accumulates, it is necessary to cut and drain the pus and take out the carrion.

(3) Jaw cyst: Jaw can have various cysts. The most common diseases are apical cyst on dental caries, follicular cyst on enamel and postoperative maxillary sinus cyst after maxillary sinusitis. Although there is no pain, when the cyst grows up, the bone in this part will be compressed and protrude outward, which will deform the jaw. In treatment, it can be removed by surgery. However, some cysts are removed to make them smaller in the mouth.
