What does Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital see?
Bethel Hospital, the predecessor of the Ninth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, was founded in 1920. 1952 was renamed Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, and 1964 officially became the Ninth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical University (hereinafter referred to as "the Ninth Hospital"). In 2005, Shanghai Second Medical University and Shanghai Jiaotong University were formally merged, and the Ninth Hospital was renamed as the Ninth People's Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. It is a three-level comprehensive teaching hospital featuring stomatology, plastic surgery and orthopedics, with complete internal, external, gynecological and pediatric disciplines. There are 3 academicians of China Academy of Engineering, who have successively won the second prize of national scientific and technological progress in oral and maxillofacial surgery, namely, the morphological and functional reconstruction of defects after radical resection of oral and maxillofacial tumors, and the clinical treatment of hemangioma and vascular malformation in oral and maxillofacial regions. Stomatology ranked second in the discipline ranking of the Ministry of Education in 2007, and oral and maxillofacial surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics and orthopedics were the national key clinical specialties of the Ministry of Health. It has been rated as a civilized unit in Shanghai for ten years in a row and won the honorary title of "National Advanced Collective for Cultural Construction of Urban Hospitals".
