Matters needing attention of rotary encoder
(1) installation

Do not directly impact the shaft during installation.

Flexible connectors should be used to connect the encoder shaft to the machine. Do not press hard when installing the connector on the shaft. Even if the connector is used, due to poor installation, it may add more than the allowable load to the shaft, or cause core shifting, which should be paid special attention to.

Bearing life is related to service conditions, especially affected by bearing load. If the bearing load is less than the specified load, the bearing life can be greatly prolonged.

Do not disassemble the rotary encoder, which will damage the oil-proof and drip-proof performance. Anti-drip products should not be soaked in water and oil for a long time, and should be wiped clean when there is water and oil on the surface.

(2) Vibration

The vibration added to the rotary encoder often becomes the cause of false pulses. So pay attention to the location and installation location. The more pulses per revolution, the narrower the slot spacing of the rotating slotted disk, and the more susceptible to vibration. When rotating or stopping at a low speed, the vibration applied to the shaft or the machine body makes the rotating grooved disk shake, which may cause false pulses.

(3) About wiring and connection

Wiring errors may damage internal circuits, so you should pay full attention to:

(1) wiring should be done in the power-off state. When the power supply is turned on, if the output line touches the power supply, it will sometimes damage the output circuit.

(2) If the wiring is wrong, it will sometimes damage the internal circuit, so pay full attention to the polarity of the power supply when wiring.

3 If wiring is parallel to high-voltage lines and power lines, it will sometimes be induced to cause misoperation and damage, so wiring should be separated.

④ When extending the conductor, it should be below 10m. Moreover, due to the distribution ability of wires, the rising and falling time of waveforms will be longer. When there is a problem, use Schmidt ring to shape the waveform.

⑤ In order to avoid induced noise, try to use the shortest wiring distance. When input into integrated circuits, special attention should be paid.

6 When the conductor is extended, due to the influence of conductor resistance and line-to-line capacitance, the rising and falling time of the waveform is prolonged, which is easy to cause interference (crosstalk) between signals, so the conductor with low resistance and line-to-line capacitance (twisted pair, shielded wire) is used.

For HTL encoder with symmetrical negative signal output, the signal transmission distance can reach 300 meters.
