How to breed succulents (on the correct breeding method of succulents)
Common propagation methods of succulents include planting, branching, cutting and grafting. Today, I will talk to the flower friends about the reproduction of succulents.

Sow succulent plants

First, sow seeds.

Among succulents, except for a few species that can pollinate themselves, most of them belong to insect-borne or bird-borne flowers, and they must be pollinated artificially to blossom and bear fruit.

The life span of succulent seeds is very short, such as Tang Guang seeds, which can only last for a few weeks. The seeds of succulents are usually stored at room temperature for one year, and the emergence rate will be greatly reduced. Therefore, most succulents are sown immediately after harvest and stored for no more than 1 month.

Second, Lamian Noodles.

The succulents suitable for ramet propagation are Sedum, Tilia, Cactus and Quercus. Remove the lateral buds with completely separated roots, or separate the lateral buds with sterilized blades. Dry the cut mother plant and lateral buds in a cool and ventilated place, and then plant the mother plant. Strong and rooted seedlings can be planted directly, and rootless lateral buds can be inserted into slightly moist soil to induce their root growth. In order to induce aerial rooting of succulents of Sedum, the parts that need to take root can be exposed to the air and replanted after aerial rooting is born.

Cutting of succulent plants

Third, cutting

Cutting is the most commonly used method of fleshy reproduction, which can be subdivided into leaf cutting, stem cutting and root cutting.

1, blade plug

Spread the fat leaves on a slightly wet sand bed or loose soil surface and put them in a ventilated place to take root quickly, and adventitious buds and small main stems grow on the leaf base, such as Tianzhu and shilianhua.

Step 2: Cutting

Combined with the daily pruning and shaping of succulents, the cut branches are used as cuttings, such as Zi Long Corner, Desert Rose, Yunxiage and Rosa davurica. Pay attention to empty the milky milk discharged from the cut wound, dry it a little before cutting. The actual effect will be better.

Step 3 cut the roots

The roots of rare varieties such as green jade fan are thick and developed. Cut off the fleshy roots, bury them in a sand bed with good air permeability, keep the upper end slightly exposed, keep it slightly wet and light, sprout from the roots, and produce small main stems.

Grafting of succulent plants

Fourth, grafting.

Can succulents be grafted? Yes, it is. It is often used to breed spotted brocade and modify the next species. For example, the horse's teeth are glued to the wood, and the dance of elegant music is grafted; Rhinoceros horn is used as sticky wood and grafted with Zi Long horn; Non-African overlord trees are used as sticky wood, and African overlord trees are grafted for decoration; Taking Bawangbian as the rootstock, grafting Feng Chun can achieve a good ornamental effect. In the process of grafting, the plant is covered with milky moisturizing emulsion, which is very sticky. Therefore, the actual operation of grafting should be rapid and skillful in order to survive.
