The lacquerware of Shang Dynasty in Yin Ruins in Anyang, Henan Province is incomplete, only wood carvings and clay sculptures with traces of cinnabar. In the exquisite patterns, there are bone carvings with various patterns and oval mussels. These cinnabar wood carvings are one of the earliest decorative symbols of lacquerware in China. Bone carvings and clam shells are one of the earliest lacquer inlays in China.
