Lacquerware in Shang Dynasty is mainly found in Yin Ruins in Anyang, Henan Province, and also found in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River and Yangtze River.

In the exquisite patterns, there are bone carvings with various patterns and oval mussels. These cinnabar wood carvings are one of the earliest decorative symbols of lacquerware in China. Bone carvings and clam shells are one of the earliest lacquer inlays in China.
