In the 27th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (190 1), Zeng Bingxi (Shuidongjiang), a native of Daodaotai, Shanghai, donated 20,000 yuan to build an academy, which was completed in the 31st year of Guangxu (1909). The overall structure was in the shape of "Tian", with a total of 56 houses, and it was named Academy. Now Tang Yang Academy covers an area of nearly 30 mu, and the campus green coverage rate reaches 70%.
