Characteristics of trellis: Grapes cultivated in trellis are generally pruned in the form of dried grapes. A typical dragon plant has a thick dragon trunk, which inclines from the ground and gradually reaches the scaffolding. The length of the trunk is about 4 ~ 10 meter or more, depending on the row spacing of the shed. There are many fruitful grass positions evenly distributed on the dragon trunk. In the early stage, it is composed of annual branches (leaving 1 ~ 2 buds). In the later period, due to years of short cutting, many short branches were formed, which looked like "dragon claws". Fruit-bearing branches will be produced on the African claw every year, and all branches on the African claw will be cut short in winter. Only the annual branches at the top of the dragon stem are cut longer (6 ~ 8 buds or longer). When adopting the shape of dragon trunks, we should pay attention to the distribution of dragon trunks on the shed surface to keep a reasonable spacing between them. When the spacing is too large, the output per unit area is low; Too small spacing and poor ventilation and light transmission will also affect the yield and quality. Under the condition of general growth potential and fertilizer and water conditions, the stem spacing after pruning of short branches is about 50 cm. If the fertilizer and water conditions are good and the plants grow strongly, the stem spacing should be increased to about 60 ~ 70 cm or more.
Trimming in the first year: planting with one-year-old seedlings or fully mature and robust cuttings, with every two or three plants as a hole, and the hole spacing is about 1 ~ 1.5 meters. In the growing period, the new buds are cored and truncated to promote thickening and maturation. When pruning in winter, choose each plant to keep strong new branches and annual branches to keep 1 ~ 2 buds.
In the second year, plastic pruning: select healthy new branches with appropriate positions, make them grow upwards, and remove the remaining new branches. The secondary branches on the main branch (the future dragon trunk) were completely removed and planted within 30 cm of the base of the main branch. Leave 2 ~ 4 leaves for the upper secondary branch to core, and leave 1 ~ 3 leaves for all secondary branches to core. When the main shoot is more than 2 meters long and the tip grows slowly, it can be cut off to promote the full maturity of the branches. When pruning in winter, leave this branch long, and the thickness of the cut branch should be kept at 1 ~ 1.2 cm, and the length can generally be 1.5 ~ 2.5 meters.
Pruning in the third year: the long branches cut in the last year are also good fruiting mother branches, which will bear fruit in the third year. Vineyards with a large number of long branches can obtain considerable yield (per mu 1000 ~ 1500 kg or more) in the third year. When pruning in winter, 1 ~ 2 buds are cut off from other lateral annual branches, except that the top extension branches are still long so that the dragon trunk can continue to extend forward on the shed surface. These short branches are the embryonic forms of the dragon claw.
In the fourth year, plastic pruning: the trunk continues to extend to form branches; In the fourth year, the grape yield increased significantly, because in addition to the long fruiting mother branch at the top of the trunk, many short lateral branches were added. When pruning in winter, all the mature annual branches on the short branches are cut into short branches with 1 ~ 2 buds again, and the annual branches at the top of the main branches are still retained. In this way, in the fourth or fifth year, the shaping of the trunk is basically completed and it enters the full fruit period.
When cultivating dried longan, in order to facilitate burial and excavation, attention should be paid to the inclined separation of dried longan from the ground, especially the included angle between the base length of 30 cm and the ground should be small (below 20 degrees) to reduce the risk of broken base of dried longan, and the inclined direction of dried longan should be consistent with the burial direction. As mentioned above, except the annual branch at the top of the trunk, the lateral mature annual branches are all short, with 1 ~ 2 buds. (Shandong Fruit Tea Station)
