Mu Ruifen was born in Kaifeng, Henan. In the 12th year of the Republic of China (1923), he entered the pre-medical department of Yali University in Changsha. He studied at Changsha Xiangya Medical College and Shanghai National Central University Medical School since June 2015. He graduated in July 2016 with a bachelor's degree in medicine and became a surgeon at the First Hospital of the Red Cross Society of China in Shanghai. In July 2017, he went to the UK and studied at the Royal Hospital of Edinburgh and the London Otolaryngology Hospital, and then went to the University of Vienna in Austria to further his studies in otolaryngology. He returned to China in the 25th year of the Republic of China and served as a lecturer and professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Shanghai Medical College. In February 1935, he was appointed as the director of the Department of Otolaryngology at Shanghai Sino-US Hospital and started practicing medicine in September of the same year. In 1951, he was appointed as the director of the otolaryngology department of Shanghai Nanyang Hospital. In 1956, he was appointed as the director of the otolaryngology department of Shanghai Second Labor Hospital (now Yangpu District Central Hospital). He also served as consultant of the otolaryngology department of the Chest Hospital, Nanyang Hospital and Zhongshan Hospital.

Biography

Mu Ruifen has long been committed to the medical, teaching and research activities of otolaryngology.
