The logical hard disk is physically partitioned artificially, so as to access and manage the files inside. Moving from one folder to another folder in the same partition is quickly completed, because the single data in the file allocation table of this partition changes, but it takes a long time to move to a folder in another partition, which is caused by the actual moving of data.

Digital data is stored and retrieved on a flat magnetic surface. Through the writing head close to the magnetic surface, the electromagnetic current writes information on the disk, and the polarity is changed by the electromagnetic current. Information can be read back in the opposite way, for example, the magnetic field causes an electrical change in the coil or the reading head passes over it.
In the early days, the storage medium of hard disk was replaceable, but today, the typical hard disk is a fixed storage medium, and both the magnetic disk and the magnetic head are encapsulated in the body (except for a filter hole to balance the air pressure difference caused by the heat generated during work).
