Will sweaters shrink?

Whether the sweater will shrink is actually related to its material and washing method. Generally, cotton knitwear will shrink, but the shrinkage rate is relatively small, because cotton fiber has a certain shrinkage rate, as long as it is normal within the specified range. However, the shrinkage rate of pure cotton knitwear will be greater than that of blended cotton, and the higher the cotton content, the higher the shrinkage rate.

How to deal with the shrinkage of sweaters?

1, steam ironing

Shrinking sweaters can be heated with a steam iron, and then the fibers of the sweater can be stretched by hand while it is hot. However, it is necessary to control the strength of stretching and avoid stretching clothes for too long. The fiber cannot be stretched a lot at a time, and it must be heated and stretched repeatedly. Think about the length of drawing before drawing to avoid too many problems after drawing. When you have finished pulling it all, you should measure the total length with a ruler. If there is not enough space, you can repeat it. But don't overdo it. It is best to use a camera to heat, shape and cool after all.

2. Thick cardboard

Sweaters that shrink after washing can also be made of thick cardboard, such as cardboard in the box of household appliances. Cut these cardboard into the size and shape of the original sweater, and it is best to polish the incision with sandpaper to avoid damaging the clothes. Put the sweater on the cardboard, fix the lower part with several hangers, then steam iron the sweater repeatedly at various parts with an electric iron, and take it off after it is completely cooled.

3. Send it to the dry cleaner

If you don't want to handle it yourself, you'd better take it to the dry cleaner, then find a special shelf of the same model as the clothes, hang the sweater, and after high-temperature steam treatment, the clothes can be restored to their original state. Of course, it is best to prevent the sweater from shrinking during cleaning.

How can sweaters not shrink when washed?

1. Dust the knitted clothes before washing and soak them in cold water 10 ~ 20 minutes. After taking it out, squeeze out the water, gently rub it in the washing powder solution or soap sheet solution, and then rinse it with clear water. In order to ensure the color of wool, 2% acetic acid (vinegar can also be used) can be dripped into water to dissolve the remaining soap.

2, wash the sweater with tea, if it is white clothes, it is best not to use this method, not only can wash away the dust, but also make the wool not fade and prolong the service life.

The washing method is: use a pot of boiling water, add a proper amount of tea leaves, filter out the tea leaves after the tea leaves are soaked thoroughly and the water is cool, soak the sweater (thread) in the tea leaves for 15 minutes, then gently rub it for several times, and rinse it with clear water.
