2. Lujiazui, Pudong, is a window to show the development of Shanghai and a landmark of Shanghai today. The name Lujiazui comes from Shen Lu, a famous scholar in Ming Dynasty. Shen Lu (1477- 1544), whose name is Yanshan, is from Shanghai county. Young and smart, the first person at the age of 24, the first scholar at the age of 28 (that is, biography). He chose Jishi Shu and won the editor's prize. He has served as minister of Taichang Temple and served as a bachelor. In the third year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1524), Shen Lu built a house in a corner of Huangpu River, and built "backyard" and "Yanshan Jingshe" as his seclusion. After Lu died, he was buried next to the park. The land at the corner of the mouth was named Lujiazui because of Shen Lu's hometown and mausoleum.
3. In the thirty-second year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1553), in order to resist the invasion of the Japanese, Shanghai County organized the construction of the Shanghai City Wall. During the fortification period, Mrs. Mei, the hostess of Hou Yuan, and Mrs. Shen Lufu, who had a deep sense of righteousness, resolutely decided to donate 500 mu of land and another 2,200 yuan to demolish thousands of houses. All the proceeds are used to help build the small east gate of the county. Later generations called the small east gate "Lady's Gate" to commemorate Mrs. Shen Lufu's righteous act.
1843, Shanghai port opened. From 1853 (the third year of Xianfeng), British businessmen built the first foreign wharf in Pudong at Tangqiao, and foreign businessmen quickly competed for land along the Yangtze River in Pudong. By 1867 (six years of Tongzhi), many warehouses, docks and docks had been built in Lujiazui and Tangqiao from Changzhan. At the beginning of the 20th century, with Lujiazui as the center, there were many docks, docks and factories along the river from Qingning Temple to Bailianjing, and there was little space along the river.
Due to the concentration of a large number of factories, Lujiazui has become the region with the largest number of industrial workers, the most concentrated and the fastest development. It is not only the birthplace of working class in Pudong, but also one of the birthplaces of working class in Shanghai.
1921On July 20th, more than 8,000 workers from the new and old factories of Mei Ying Tobacco Factory in Pudong, Lujiazui District held an alliance strike to protest against the abuse of workers by foreign supervisors. At that time, it was on the eve of the first congress of China * * * Production Party. Upon learning this news, the China Trade Union Secretariat immediately sent Li to Pudong to lead the strike. After more than 20 days of struggle, the strike won. This strike is the first workers' movement led by China * * * Production Party after its establishment, and it has entered the history of the Party.
