Golden cypress is an evergreen shrub or tree with dense branches, flat branchlets and scaly leaves. The scale in the center of the branchlet is rhombic-oval, and the tip is a pure boat-shaped scale on the side of the branchlet, with green on both sides. Monoecious, with different branches, cones are inserted at the ends of branches, and the male cones are round, reddish or yellowish: the female cones are small, green or purplish, and the mature cones are solitary, oval or oblong. Jin Zhongbai got its name because he grew on a cliff.
Golden cypress is a rare and endangered plant. 1999 was found in a small amount in Daba Mountain area of Chongqing, and then in Xuebaoshan Nature Reserve and Xuanhan County of Sichuan Province. No cutting. Jin Zhongbai was designated as a national second-class protected wild plant in the first list of rare and endangered protected plants in China published in 1984, and was adjusted to the national first-class in September 2002/kloc-0.
cultivation techniques
1. Afforestation season: spring, summer and autumn, especially all the year round when seedlings are raised in nutrient bags. In order to connect with the cutting and seedling arrangement season, it is ideal to cut in early spring, arrange seedlings in summer and autumn and go out for afforestation in the following spring.
2. Proper close planting: As the golden cypress is a positive tree species with high shade tolerance, close planting can be carried out in advance in sunny mountainous areas to promote high growth and become useful as soon as possible. It is reasonable to use 2 m× 3 m or 3 m× 4 m spacing for afforestation.
3. Timely plastic surgery: reasonable pruning and plastic surgery can obviously promote high growth. Heavy pruning in spring, light pruning in summer, or no pruning when not pruning, and different pruning methods are adopted according to the age of the tree. In the first and second years, it is mainly short-cut, and in the third and fourth years, overlapping branches, competing branches and over-dense branches are thinned and kept conical or tower-shaped.
